Slowly becoming warmer and more humid!


At daybreak this morning we have mostly clear skies and temperatures are mainly in the low 60s.

Today will be another nice day with highs a little higher than what we enjoyed over the weekend, humidity levels will be a tad higher also with dew points rising into the 60s.

Temperatures and humidity level will continue to rise on Tuesday but we should remain dry.

Wednesday will be warmest day of the week and dew points  should reach the oppressive 70s, also as a cold front approaches the area there will be a threat of thunderstorms developing in the afternoon.

A better chance of thunderstorms Wednesday night into Thursday as the front crosses the area.

Cooler and less humid Friday and Saturday with plenty of sunshine both days.

We start off dry on Sunday but showers may develop in the afternoon.

Mainly cloudy and continued cool weather to end the weekend.


Skies are cloudy at daybreak this morning and there has been some sprinkles or light showers falling in the Hudson Valley and along the South New Jersey coast, temperatures are in the low 60s.

Today will be quite similar to yesterday with plenty of clouds around with temperatures cool for this time of year along with continued comfortable humidity.

A slow increase in temperatures and humidity into early next week with temperatures getting close to 90 degrees by Wednesday, the next chance of showers and thunderstorms will be Wednesday night into Thursday as a cold front comes through.

Cooler and less humid air returns for Friday into next weekend and we should enjoy plenty of sunshine.

Comfortable start to the weekend but with more clouds!


Skies are cloudy at daybreak this morning, temperatures are in the low 60s, winds are light and the humidity is low.

Today will feature more clouds than the last couple of days but we should remain dry, with the cloudiness temperatures will be slightly lower, comfortable humidity levels will continue.

On Sunday we should have a little less cloudiness, temperatures and humidity will continue to be lower than what is typical for mid summer.

Dry weather will persist into at least the middle of next week with an increase of temperature and humidity and we may hit the 90 degree mark on Wednesday.

The next chance of showers and thunderstorms will be on Thursday, it will be a warm and muggy day.

Cooler and less humid air is expected to end the work week as no extended periods of heat is expected through the end of July.

Pleasant weather to continue through the weekend!


Skies are clear in the area and the temperature at daybreak in Clifton is 60 degrees with the 50s being observed further inland, winds are light and the humidity continues to be low.

Normally this time of the year we have the hottest weather but not this year.  Below are the forecasts for July 18th the last couple of years.

2012 –  Partly sunny with thunderstorms developing mainly after 4PM, some storms will be accompanied by small hail, strong winds and very heavy rain along with cloud to ground lightning, highs in the upper 90s.

2013 – Mostly sunny, very hot with a chance of a thunderstorm, high near 100.

2014 – Sunny, high in the low 80s.

 

Unlike the last two years today will feature comfortable temperatures and humidities along with plenty of sunshine.

It appears that we will make seven straight dry weekends, temperatures and humidity levels will stay comfortable although there may be more cloudiness than today.

A slow increase in temperatures and humidity next week with highs possibly rising to near 90 by Wednesday, we should stay dry with the next chance of rain Wednesday night or Thursday.

We have partly cloudy conditions at daybreak this morning with temperatures ranging from the low 60s in Clifton to the upper 50s further inland, winds are light and the humidity is low.

After some early morning cloudiness expect mostly sunny skies today, temperatures will be a bit below normal but still reach the low 80s, winds will be light and we will have comfortable humidity.

The nice weather will continue Friday through the weekend with comfortable temperatures and humidity as it appears we will have the seventh straight dry weekend in a row.

As we head into next week we will only see a slow increase in temperatures and humidity with only  low chances of showers on Tuesday and Wednesday.

After early showers today we will enjoy cooler and much less humid conditions into the weekend!


Skies are cloudy in the Clifton area, temperatures are around 70 degrees and the humidity is still rather high.  Some scattered showers are occurring in parts of the region.

Yesterday we totalled only .37 inches of rain here in Clifton but much higher amounts were recorded across most of New Jersey and the Hudson Valley.

Today a cold front will slowly move east of the area and after some scattered showers this morning we should have clearing skies later this afternoon along with cooler and much less humid air.

We will enjoy very pleasant summer weather both Thursday and Friday with plenty of sunshine, low humidity and temperatures a bit below normal.

The forecast for this upcoming weekend is more optimistic as high pressure will continue to be over the area and showers should remain well to our south.

Somewhat higher temperatures and humidity early next week with a chance of showers on Monday and Tuesday.

Another round of strong thunderstorms today; Flood watch continues in effect!


Skies are cloudy at daybreak this morning and it is warm and muggy, temperatures are near the 70 degree mark, winds are light.

I picked up another 1.85 inches of rain late yesterday afternoon and evening.

More strong thunderstorms will again develop this afternoon and continue into tonight as a cold front slowly approaches from the west, some of these storms will be accompanied by very heavy rain and possibly strong gusty winds, another couple of inches of rain is likely.  Temperatures and humidity levels will be similar to yesterday.  Skies will be mostly cloudy but we will have some breaks in the clouds especially this morning and early this afternoon.

The cold front will cross the area early on Wednesday with showers continuing till around noon.  Partial clearing Wednesday afternoon and it will be noticeably cooler and less humid.

Very pleasant weather Thursday and Friday, high temperatures will reach the low 80s and the humidity will be low.

Our string of nice weather weekends may be coming to a close as we may have some showers late in the day on Saturday continuing into Sunday, however if any precipitation that does occur it should be on the light side.

Flash flooding along with severe thunderstorms possible today into Wednesday morning!


Skies are mostly cloudy at daybreak this morning, temperatures are around 70, winds are light and the humidity is high.

The rain late last night and early this morning totalled .60″, falling from around 11:30pm last night till 2:00am this morning.  Although it was mostly cloudy yesterday and after a mostly sunny Saturday I guess we can say we had the sixth straight nice weather weekend.

After a break in the rain this morning, showers and thunderstorms will redevelop this afternoon and continue into this evening, there is a chance of torrential downpours along with severe thunderstorms that can produce damaging winds.  A flash flood watch is effect from Monday afternoon into Wednesday morning.

Thunderstorms will continue at times tomorrow into tomorrow night with more torrential downpours possible, the threat of severe weather will be lower than today but we still can’t rule out some strong storms with damaging wind gusts.

A cold front will cross the area early Wednesday morning with showers lingering till around noon time followed by cooler and drier air by the afternoon.

Pleasant weather Thursday and Friday with dry conditions and slightly below normal temperatures.

Shower chances exist for next weekend so we may not continue our streak of nice weather weekends.

Today will be warm and humid with mostly sunny skies, showers and thunderstorm chances increase this afternoon and evening, some of these storms may be accompanied by heavy rain.

More humid on Sunday and there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms developing in the afternoon and with a continued chance of thunderstorms at night, skies will be mostly cloudy.

Monday and Tuesday will be continued humid with showers and thunderstorms likely, some storms may be strong to severe along with heavy downpours.

A cold front should move to our east by Wednesday morning bringing in cooler and less humid air along with less cloudiness.
