Pleasant weather to end the work week.


It is crisp and cool this morning as temperatures have fallen near 50 here in Clifton to mostly in the 40s in most of Northwest Jersey.  Today and Friday will be dry with temperatures rising a bit on Friday.  A cold front will likely cause showers and thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and night, it will be warmer with highs close or just above 80 degrees.  Cooler Sunday into early next week and dry.

The forecast: Today: Mostly sunny, highs in the low 70s.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, not as cool, low around 60.

Friday: Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 70s.

Saturday: Partly sunny with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, high in the low 80s,  Better chance of showers at night.

Sunday through Wednesday: Mostly sunny each day with highs in the lower 70s.

Marine Forecast: Small craft advisory well offshore otherwise East wind around 12 knots, seas to 4 feet..

Outlook: Small craft advisories may be needed Saturday into Sunday as a front moves through.

Storms are gone now back to very enjoyable late summer weather!


Yesterday’s nasty weather has moved offshore, we did pick up 1.74: of rain along with gusty winds. A squall line came through a little after 7pm with torrential rains, most of the rain was over around 10pm. A cold front came through around 3am and there is cooler and much less humid air moving in, today and tomorrow will be seasonably cool then a little warmer Friday and Saturday. Another weaker cold front will move through on Sunday morning with a chance of showers from Saturday night until Sunday morning, cooler again from Sunday into early next week.

The forecast: Today: Becoming sunny and pleasant with highs in the low 70s.

Tonight: Clear and cool, low around 50.

Thursday: Sunny with highs again in the low 70s.

Friday: Mostly sunny, high in the mid 70s.

Saturday: Partly sunny with a chance of showers at night, high near 80.

Sunday: Chance of a morning shower then partly sunny, high in the low 70s.

Monday: Mostly sunny, high near 70.

Tuesday: Sunny, high in the low 70s.

Marine Forecast: Today: Small craft advisory through this afternoon, northwest winds to 25 knots and seas to 7 feet diminishing this afternoon.
Outlook: Sub-advisory winds and seas through early next week.

Stormy Tuesday!


First batch of rain moved in around 4am and dumped around .33″ of rainfall as a warm front moved to our north, during the day today we will have showers and thunderstorms some may be severe with even a possibility of a small tornado or two in our area. A wind advisory is in effect also as strong southerly winds develop bringing in tropical air from the south. A cold front will be approaching tonight and there may be a squall line ahead of the front this evening.. After the front goes through early tomorrow morning it will become much less humid with clearing late in the day. Dry with seasonably temperatures Thursday and Friday. Another weaker cold front may give us some showers Saturday night till Sunday morning then clearing.

Just a note that this morning at International Falls, Minnesota they had a record low of 22 degrees.

The forecast: Today: Showers and thunderstorms, storms may have very heavy rain and strong gusty winds to 45 MPH, humid, high in the upper 70s.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms continuing, some may be accompanied by very heavy rain and strong gusty winds, low in the low 60s.

Wednesday: Chance of showers mainly before 8am then clearing and much less humid, highs in the low to mid 70s.

Thursday: Sunny, highs in the low 70s.

Friday: Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 70s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny day, high in the upper 70s, chance of showers at night.

Sunday: Partly sunny with a chance of showers mainly in the morning, high in the low 70s.

Monday: Mostly sunny and cool, high only around 70.

Marine Forecast: Today: Gale warning in effect, southerly winds gusting to 40 knots, seas rising to 8 feet.
Outlook: Small craft advisory will probably will be in effect until Wednesday afternoon, sub advisory level winds and seas from later Wednesday through the weekend.

Another nice day for the start of the work week, temperatures this morning were in the low 50s in the Clifton area to some 40s in the coolest sections of northwest New Jersey. Today we will see mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the upper 70s. A storm system will develop over the southeast and move to the Great Lakes tomorrow, strong southerly winds along with the chance of severe weather mainly tomorrow afternoon and night, we make pick up 1-2″ of rain with some higher amounts. Clearing Wednesday afternoon and Thursday and Friday will be nice with seasonable temperatures. Chance of showers developing for the weekend.

The Forecast: Today: Sunny with highs in the upper 70s.

Tonight: Increasing clouds with a chance of showers after midnight, becoming more humid, lows in the low 60s.

Tuesday and Tuesday night: Showers and thunderstorms, becoming windy, some storms may be severe in the afternoon and night, heavy rain likely with some flooding, highs in the upper 70s.

Wednesday: A chance of showers in the morning, partial clearing in the afternoon, highs in the low to mid 70s.

Thursday and Friday: Mostly sunny, highs both days in the mid 70s.

Saturday and Sunday, Partly sunny with a chance of showers, highs in the low to mid 70s.

Marine Forecast: Today: Variable winds this morning becoming south-southeast at around 10 knots, seas 2 feet:
Outlook: Gale watch in effect for Tuesday until Wednesday morning, gusts to 35 knots likely, sub-advisory level winds and seas from Wednesday afternoon through the weekend.

Beautiful late summer weather to continue for this Sunday!


If you enjoyed yesterday’s fine weather today will be just about the same with a little less wind. Monday will still be pleasantly mild after another cool morning.. A storm system on Tuesday into Wednesday has the potential to give us heavy rain and strong winds as a warm front moves to our north on Tuesday followed by a strong cold front on Wednesday. Nice on Thursday and Friday but a chance of showers developing by next Saturday!

High rip currents likely today for our beaches from Hurricane Nadine that is well out in the Atlantic..
