Well the nor’easter is moving east of Cape Cod, this storm didn’t give us much wind as expected but it dumped a lot more snow.. In Clifton we received a little over four inches of the white stuff which made it the second earliest snow accumulation in the 40 years I have been keeping records, the earliest was the October 29th storm of last year., however up to a foot of snow was reported in parts of Monmouth and Ocean counties.Luckily most of the leaves are off the trees so we didn’t get as many tree limbs coming down but there is still over 300,000 state customers without power for the 10th day.
Today the sun will come out later this morning with temperatures rising into the upper 40s, then fair and mild will start Friday with highs in the 50s and then 60s from Sunday through next Tuesday which will fell a whole lot better than what we have had.

The forecast: Today – Cloudy this morning then becoming mostly sunny, high in the upper 40s.
Tonight – Mostly clear, low in the low 30s.
Friday – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 50s.
Saturday – Partly sunny with a high in the upper 50s.
Sunday – Mostly sunny high in the mid 60s.
Monday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 60s.
Tuesday – Cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the lower 60s.
Wednesday – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 50s.

Marine Forecast: Today – Gale warning – Northwest winds gusting to 35 knots, seas to 13 feet, seas and winds diminishing this afternoon and evening..
Outlook – Sub-advisory level winds and seas Friday through the middle of next week.

Have a good day!

Nor’easter is bringing less wind but more snow into the area1

Wednesday afternoon update: Temperatures have dropped to the freezing point this afternoon on northerly winds, accumulations in our area should be 3-6 inches. Less wind is occurring than what was in the forecast from this morning along with less coastal flooding.. Still with heavy wet snow and winds possibly gusting to 35MPH there is a threat of power outages in the area.. The precipitation will taper off tomorrow morning possibly changing back to rain before ending.. Much improved weather on Friday into the weekend in fact temperatures may rise to just short of the 70 degree mark on Sunday… Let’s hope!

Nor’easter to give area high winds and some snow!

Winds are already picking up and they will increase further as the day goes on, top winds may reach 50MPH in gusts inland and 60MPH at the coast. Coastal flooding will be an issue also as tides are expected to be more than three feet above normal.. Snow will fall at times also , right now expecting about an inch in our area but up to 4 inches in western New Jersey. The worst part of this storm will occur from this afternoon to early tomorrow morning. Inland flooding will not be an issue again as melted precipitation amounts will be just over 1/2 inch.
Winds will diminish on Thursday and precipitation will taper off to just some rain showers by later in the morning..
Finally quiet and milder weather starting Friday with temperatures reaching the 60s by Sunday and this mild weather will persist into at least the early part of next week.

The forecast: Today – Rain, snow and sleet, very windy with gusts to 50MPH possible, highs only in the upper 30s.
