Not as frigid today! Very cold again tonight into Saturday! Finally milder weather starting Sunday!


Skies are partly cloudy in the area this morning, temperatures are about seven degrees warmer than this time yesterday and winds are light.

Today will not be as cold as the last two days as temperatures reach the low 40s which is still well below normal for this time of year and with winds gusting to 25 mph it will make it feel chilly despite plenty of sunshine.

Another surge of cold air will brisk winds tonight and Friday,  high temperatures on Friday will again fail to get out of the 30s.

After a chilly Saturday morning it will become slightly milder in the afternoon with sunshine.

Finally milder on Sunday with rain likely at night.

Even warmer on Monday with a chance of showers mainly in the morning, temperatures will rise well up into the 60s which will make it feel comfortable after the frigid weather this week.

A cold front will move across the area on Tuesday, it will still be mild.

Seasonably cool and dry weather expected Wednesday and on Thanksgiving.

Record low temperatures this morning! January like temperatures continue today with diminishing winds!


Many record low temperature across our area this morning, here in Clifton we have a reading of 18 degrees which is a record for the date, the coldest reading in the state now is 11 degrees at High Point.  Winds here are lighter but still blowing from the west around 10 mph, wind chills are in the single digits, skies are clear.

Today will be very cold again but with diminishing winds, high temperatures will have a hard time reaching the freezing mark.

Tonight will not be as cold with readings about 10 degrees higher than this morning.

A bit milder on Thursday but temperatures still about 10 degrees below normal.

A reinforcing surge of colder air again for Friday and Saturday, temperatures will not be as frigid as our last two days but still be about 15 degrees below normal for this time of year.

Finally warmer air will move in for Sunday and even warmer air on Monday, high temperatures on Monday may be around 30 degrees higher than what will be recorded on Friday.  The next chance of precipitation is from late Sunday into early Tuesday.

Thanksgiving at this time appears to be dry with slightly below normal temperatures.

Unseasonably cold Arctic air is moving into our area, record lows likely tonight!


Temperatures are rapidly falling early this morning as temperatures have fallen from the low 40s at midnight to the mid 20s at 6am, winds gusting to 30 mph have dropped wind chills into the teens, skies are mostly clear.

Don’t expect temperatures to rise much today despite sunshine, winds will continue to gust to 30 mph or more and wind chills will be in the teens, even most days in January are not as cold as what we will experience today.

Tonight we will see many record low temperatures in the area with slowly diminishing winds.

Still unseasonably cold on Wednesday but will much lighter winds.

Not as cold but still below normal temperatures on Thursday but another cold front will give us a reinforced bout of cold weather for Friday and Saturday but not as harsh as today and tomorrow’s weather but temperatures will still be well below normal.  The only positive with this upcoming cold few days that we will remain dry and no snow is expected.

Finally milder on Sunday into early next week but with the mild air there will be a chance of showers.

Milder today with rain then January like cold most of this week!


We have rain over the region early this morning with temperatures mainly in the upper 30s, winds are light.  The only sub-freezing temperature currently in the state is 30 degrees at High Point so that is the only area that may have some winter type precipitation.

Rain will continue most of the day, there may be a brief break in the rain around midday into the early afternoon but rain will return for this evening’s rush. The rain will end this evening. Temperatures will be milder reaching the 50s.

Much colder weather will follow the storm system, our high temperature may be recorded just after midnight and not rise during the day staying in the 30s, winds gusting to 30 mph on Tuesday will make it feel much colder despite plenty of sunshine.

Near record cold early Wednesday morning as most areas will drop into the teens.

Still quite cold on Wednesday but with diminishing winds, dry weather will continue.

Not as cold on Thursday but another cold front will cross the area in the afternoon.

The front will be followed by a reinforcing surge of cold air for Friday and Saturday but the cold won’t be as harsh as the middle of this week.  Luckily it will remain dry and no snow is anticipated.

Milder weather on Sunday with a chance of showers late in the day.

Early next week looks quite mild but with chances of rain.

Dry and a bit milder Sunday! Rain on Monday! Much colder and windy Tuesday!


Skies have become mostly cloudy to cloudy across the area early this morning, temperatures are mainly in the upper 20s and winds are light.

Today we will have considerable cloudiness, a light southwest flow will raise high temperatures about five degrees from yesterday’s highs, still below normal for this time of year.

A low pressure system will give us rain in the Clifton area from late tonight till early Tuesday morning,  the precipitation may start off as a mix of snow and freezing rain across extreme Northwest New Jersey and the Poconos where a winter weather advisory is in effect.  Rainfall amounts should be near one inch, milder air should move into the area with highs in the 50s.

Much colder and windy behind the front on Tuesday with a chance of snow flurries especially inland, wind gusts to 35 mph will make high temperatures in the 30s feel that much colder.  At night expect the coldest readings of the season with lows near 20 with some teens inland.

Dry weather can be expected from Wednesday through Saturday.  Temperatures will be well below normal through the period moderating to near normal by next Sunday.

Dry and cold weekend followed by mainly rain on Monday!


Skies are clear early this Saturday morning and we have the coldest readings of the season as temperatures have fallen to the mid 20s in the Clifton area to around 20 further inland, winds are light.

Today we will have plenty of sunshine however temperatures will only reach the low 40s, winds will be a little lighter than what we experienced on Friday.

Dry weather will continue on Sunday but as an area of low pressure moves toward our area expect increasing cloudiness, Sunday’s highs will be a couple of degrees higher than today.

The storm system will bring precipitation into our area after midnight tomorrow night, the precipitation may start out as a mixture of snow and rain in the Clifton area but quickly change to rain before daybreak on Monday, inland will have a better chance of seeing accumulating snow and ice early Monday before changing to rain.  The precipitation may change back to snow before ending before daybreak on Tuesday.

Even colder weather is expected Tuesday and Wednesday with highs only reaching the 30s and overnight lows near 20 in the Clifton area to many teens inland.  Winds will be brisk on Tuesday but lighter on Wednesday. Skies will be mostly clear.

Dry with slowly moderating temperatures Thursday and Friday but readings will still be below normal for this time of year.

Clearing today and continued cold! Snow and rain likely again on Monday!


Skies are mostly cloudy at daybreak this morning and the precipitation has ended, temperatures are in the low 30s in the Clifton area to the 20s further inland.

Overnight we saw our first snow of the season, here in Clifton we only had some accumulation on car tops but inland  three inches was reported on Schooleys Mountain in Morris County and four inches at Highland Lakes in Sussex County.

Clearing will take place today but it will be unseasonably cold for this time of year with highs mostly in the 40s.

Below normal temperatures will continue on the weekend with dry conditions.

Another storm system will be moving just to our east on Monday with more precipitation with heavier amounts of rain or snow starting before daybreak on Monday and ending early Tuesday morning.  Precipitation will be mainly rain in the Clifton area but several inches of snow is possible well inland, difficult to pinpoint accomulations right now as it depends on the track of the storm where the rain/snow line will set up.

Dry and even colder weather Tuesday through Thursday.

Winter weather has moved into our area! First snow of the season late tonight!


We have mostly clear skies early this morning and temperatures are about 20 degrees colder than this time yesterday, mainly in the mid 30s in Clifton to the upper 20s further inland,  winds are light northerly.

Today we will see increasing clouds during the day along with chilly temperatures.

The storm system that we have been watching looks like it will be a little more robust than what was indicated yesterday and with cold air in place it is likely that we will have see our first snow of the season late tonight.  Precipitation will start out as a mix of snow and rain later this evening changing to all snow overnight, look for 1/2 an inch to an inch of snowfall by daybreak tomorrow morning,  untreated roads and sidewalks may be slippery for tomorrow morning’s commute.

Clearing during the day Friday with cold temperatures.

The weekend will be dry and continued cold.

Another storm system will likely give us more precipitation on Monday and we may see snow changing to rain and then back to snow before ending, at this time no accumulation is expected in our area but further inland may see an inch or two of snow.

Even colder weather but dry Tuesday through Friday, highs will struggle to reach 40 and lows generally will be in the 20s with the teens further inland.

Looking further ahead it appears that Thanksgiving week will be mild.

Dense fog this morning then clearing this afternoon, last mild day for awhile!


It is a very mild early morning with temperatures in the low 50s in the Clifton area to some 40s inland,  we have dense fog in the area.

A cold front will be moving through the area today and after a froggy start to the day conditions will improve and we will have some clearing by this afternoon, it still will be quite mild with highs in the 60s.

Colder air will move into the area tonight and Thursday will be noticeably cooler despite plenty of sunshine.

A weak disturbance will give us a chance of light rain or snow late Thursday night into Friday morning, many places will see their first snow flakes of the season but no accumulations are expected.

The weekend will be chilly but mainly dry.

Another cold front will come through on Monday with another chance of rain or snow.

The coldest air of the season will be in our area next week with some daytime highs not getting out of the 30s.

Pleasantly mild Veteran’s Day!


Skies are mostly clear at daybreak this morning and temperatures range from the low 40s in the Clifton area to the 30s further inland, winds are quite light.

Today will be a quite mild day with plenty of sunshine and temperatures reaching the mid 60s.

Some drizzle possible tonight into Wednesday morning, overnight temperatures will only dip to around 50, also there is a good chance of widespread fog.

A cold front will pass through the area on Wednesday morning so after a cloudy and foggy morning sunshine will return in the afternoon, cold air will not move into the area until the night so expect another quite mild day.

Colder air and mainly dry conditions are expected Thursday through next week, there is a slight chance of rain or snow on Thursday night and another chance Sunday night into Monday, however no significant precipitation amounts are forecasted.
