Windy and still unseasonably mild today with sunshine! Rain on Thursday! Seasonably cold over the weekend!

Skies have become mostly clear early this Tuesday morning and temperatures are amazingly mild with readings ranging from the upper 50s here in Clifton to around 50 further inland.  A cold front caused some heavy showers around 1:30 a.m. and before the front passed the temperature reached a balmy 66 degrees which set another Clifton record making it six record highs in a row.

Today we will have gusty westerly winds along with mostly sunny skies, temperatures will stay unseasonably mild rising into the low 60s, winds will gust to near 30 mph at times.

On Wednesday we will have mostly sunny skies and light winds, highs will “only” reach the low to mid 50s which is still about 10-15 degrees above normal.

A storm system moving in from the west will cause rain with continued mild temperatures on Thursday.

Colder air will move in along with drying conditions on Friday that will last over the weekend, highs over the weekend will be closer to normal that will feel quite chilly after this amazing stretch of warm December weather.   There is an outside chance of seeing our first snow flurry of the season on Saturday.

The cold air doesn’t last long and we will again have well above normal temperatures next week as it is becoming more likely that December 2015 will be the warmest December on record.

Today will be a mostly cloudy day ahead of a cold front but despite the clouds temperatures will rise once again to record levels with highs in the 60s and if we get enough sunshine 70 degrees is not out of the question.  Showers will develop by evening with even a chance of a  rumble of thunder, this rain should end our streak of Monday’s without any measurable rain, the last time we had rain on Monday was back on June 15th.

The front will clear the area Tuesday morning and drier air will move in, it will be breezy but temperatures once again will rise into the 60s and some more record highs may be broken.

Sunny with less wind on Wednesday, temperatures will be a little cooler but still well above normal for mid-December.

Another stronger cold front will be moving into the area on Thursday with some showers, temperatures will continue to be quite mild.

Colder air will move into the area on Friday and last through the weekend, it will be mainly dry and windy and temperatures will fall to near normal for this time of year with highs around 40 and lows in the 20s.  There is even a slight chance of seeing our first snow flurry of the season on Saturday.

The cold air doesn’t last long as another ridge of high pressure is expected to affect the area next week and some more record highs are possible, in fact looking at the latest computer models it could come close to 70 degrees on Christmas Day, so no white Christmas this year.

Cooler and sunny weather on Wednesday but temperatures will still be well above normal.

Another stronger cold front will likely cause showers on Thursday.
