Skies are partly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures range from the mid 30s in the Clifton area to the chilly mid 20s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

High pressure will be over us this morning and then move off the New England coast as a low pressure develops off the Carolina coast, we will start off with partly to mostly sunny skies this morning followed by increasing cloudiness this afternoon, precipitation will develop by this evening with rain along most areas but some snow may accumulate inland over the highest terrain.

Rain will taper off to drizzle Wednesday morning before ending in the afternoon, temperatures will be seasonably mild.

A strong cold front will cross the area on Thursday bringing in the coldest air of the season on Friday which will be with us through the weekend along with dry conditions although some flurries or sprinkles are possible both Friday and Saturday.

Another disturbance may give us rain on Monday again beginning as some frozen precipitation inland.

Light snow is falling over the area early on this Monday morning, temperatures range from the mid 30s in Clifton to around 30 further inland, snow accumulations here in Clifton is about 1/2″ mainly on colder surfaces, winds are nearly calm.

The disturbance that gave us the snow will move quickly out of the area, precipitation will end quickly this morning followed by sunshine, temperatures will be a little milder today with highs near 50.

Another low pressure system will cause mainly rain from late Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning, the precipitation may start off as a mixture of snow and freezing rain well inland.

A cold front will cross the area on Thursday followed by the coldest air of the season area Friday through the weekend, it will be mainly dry but can’t out some flurries with the cold air Friday and again on Saturday.

Skies are partly to mostly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and temperatures range from near 40 in the Clifton area to the low 30s further inland, winds are out of the north around 10 mph.

We should have mostly sunny skies early followed by some increasing cloudiness late in the day, temperatures will be seasonably cool with less wind than what occurred on Saturday.

A weak low pressure area will move to our south tomorrow morning which will likely produce some light snow changing to rain before ending by noon on Monday, accumulations should be around an inch inland with less along coastal areas, be  prepared for possible slippery conditions for the morning commute.

Dry and cool conditions tomorrow night into Tuesday morning but another low pressure area will be moving well to our south that will likely give us some light rain or drizzle from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday, temperatures will be warm enough in the area so the precipitation will fall as rain.

A strong cold front may touch of some showers on Thursday followed by the coldest air of the season from Thursday night into the weekend along with strong winds.

The latest computer models are indicating a possible significant snowstorm for our area next Sunday night into Monday!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Saturday morning and temperatures are a little above normal ranging from around 40 in the Clifton area to the low 30s further inland, there is a brisk westerly wind that makes it feel a little colder.

Today we should see a mix of clouds and sunshine, temperatures will be a few degrees lower than yesterday with highs in the 40s, winds we continue to be brisk out of the west.

Tomorrow will be dry and cool with less wind as high pressure builds into the area.

A weak disturbance will move into the area on Monday giving our area a chance of light snow, accumulations would be less than an inch but may cause some slippery conditions on untreated roads in the morning.

Unsettled weather Tuesday through Thursday with some chances of precipitation each day which would fall mainly as light rain but some inland areas may have some frozen precipitation especially Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

NOVEMBER 2016 CLIMATE SUMMARY:

November’s temperature in Clifton averaged 47.3 degrees which was 2.5 degrees above normal!  Precipitation totaled 5.09″ which was above normal, a good portion of the rainfall fell on the last two days of the month.   The highest temperature was 73 degrees recorded on the 3rd while the lowest temperature was 32 degrees  recorded both on the 23rd and the 28th, note that this was the first November in 43 years that the low temperature did not fall below freezing.  Snowfall totaled 0.4″ which fell on the 20th,

Seasonably cool weather for the weekend and it will remain dry as high pressure builds into the area.

A weak disturbance will be moving through on Monday giving the area mostly cloudy skies with only a slight chance of sprinkles or flurries.

A couple of stronger disturbances will give us a chance of  some precipitation Tuesday through Thursday, most of this will fall as rain but some snow may mix in on Tuesday.

Much colder Arctic air will move into the area for the end of next week into the weekend.
