FRIDAY  MARCH 31, 2017   6:00  A.M.

We have cloudy skies early on this Friday morning, some light rain is occurring in parts of the area with inland areas having some sleet and freezing rain, temperatures range from the upper 30s in the Clifton area to the low 30s further inland, winds are light.

Low pressure will move from the midwest to Virginia by tonight, after a short break in the rain around daybreak rain will then return by later this morning and become heavy at times this afternoon and tonight, rainfall amounts will be around 2 inches.  Inland sleet and freezing rain will mix with the rain this morning and again tonight especially over higher elevations.  Winds across the area will pick up from the east making today a quite a miserable weather day.

Overcast skies along with some showers on Saturday, temperatures will be chilly again.

Sunday will be a rather nice spring day with plenty of sunshine and milder temperatures.

Another low pressure area will cause more rain Monday night into Tuesday but it will not be as chilly as today.

Fair weather is expected for Wednesday but another low pressure area may give us more rain toward the end of next week with seasonably mild temperatures.

THURSDAY  MARCH 30, 2017  5:53 A.M.

Skies are clear early on this Thursday morning and with light winds temperatures have fallen to the mid 30s in the Clifton area to some mid 20s in the normally colder inland valleys.

High pressure building from Eastern Canada will keep conditions dry today but we should see some increasing cloudiness this afternoon, high temperatures will be around 5 degrees cooler than yesterday.

A low pressure area now in the middle of the country will move east into our area on Friday, look for rain to develop  before daybreak which may be mixed with some freezing rain and sleet well inland.  Windswept rain will continue through the night and end Saturday morning, rain will be heavy at times with amounts around 1.5 inches.

During the day on Saturday it will be cloudy and cool.

Nice weather for Sunday and Monday with near normal temperatures.

More rain again on Tuesday and then again towards the end of next week..

Today we will see some sunshine after early cloudiness, temperatures will be mild with highs approaching the 60 degree mark.

Still a nice day but slightly cooler on Thursday.

More rain and cool on Friday as another low pressure is expected to affect the area, precipitation may start off as a wintery mix well inland, about an 1 inch of rainfall is anticipated.

After early rain Saturday morning we should see some clearing in the afternoon.

Nice weather Sunday and Monday with seasonably mild temperatures.

Skies are cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and there are some showers that have moved to our east, winds are light and there is some fog in the area.

Today we will continue to have cloudy skies with periods of rain mostly falling from the late morning into this evening, there is even a chance of some thunderstorms, temperatures will be similar to yesterday with highs in the 50s.

High pressure will build into the area on Wednesday and control our weather into Thursday, temperatures will be seasonably mild.

Another low pressure area is expected to move into the area on Friday with rain again likely from Friday morning into Saturday morning, temperatures will be cool on Friday and milder on Saturday.

Dry weather with near seasonable temperatures expected Sunday and Monday.

We have cloudy skies early on this Monday morning and there is some drizzle or light rain falling in  most of the area, temperatures are cool ranging from the upper 30s in the Clifton area to the low 30s further inland, winds are from the northeast averaging around 10 mph.

A warm front will cross the area this afternoon preceded by some rain and drizzle mainly falling this morning, we may dry out this afternoon but considerable cloudiness will continue, temperatures will not be as cool with temperatures rising to the 50s.

More overcast conditions on Tuesday along with mild temperatures and a chance of showers as a cold front approaches.

High pressure will build over the area on Wednesday and will control our weather into Thursday, temperatures both days will be near normal.

Another low pressure system will give us a chance of more rain Friday into Saturday followed by clearing on Sunday.

Today will be a cloudy and cool day with a chance of light rain or drizzle mainly this afternoon and tonight, temperatures will be cool as the clouds and an onshore wind keep temperatures from rising from the 40s.

A warm front will move into the region on Monday causing periods of rain mainly in the morning, temperatures will be milder with highs approaching the 60 degree mark.

Another mild day on Tuesday but again there will be a chance of showers.

High pressure building over the area will cause rather nice early spring weather Wednesday and Thursday.

Another disturbance may give us some rain late Friday night into Saturday, temperatures will be near or slightly above normal.

A backdoor cold front will cross the area around noon, ahead of the front temperatures will rise to around 60 but drop this afternoon as a northeast onshore flow develops, some periods of light rain or drizzle is likely late this afternoon and tonight.

Cooler and cloudy on Sunday with periods of light rain and drizzle likely.

Cloudy weather with periods of rain continuing Monday and Tuesday but with milder temperatures.

Finally some sunshine with near normal temperatures for Wednesday and Thursday but another disturbance may give us more rain on Friday.

Skies are mostly cloudy to cloudy early on this Friday morning  and temperatures are about 10 degrees warmer than this time yesterday ranging from around 30 in the Clifton area to the low 20s in some inland valleys, winds are nearly calm.

A warm front will be passing north of us today accompanied by a couple hours of showers around noontime and followed by warmer air, high tempertures should be in low 50s.

Mild temperatures overnight into Saturday but a backdoor cold front will be sagging south of us by evening accompanied by some light rain or drizzle in the afternoon and night.

Cooler on Sunday in an onshore wind flow and there will be periods of light rain or drizzle.

A stronger disturbance moving along the front will cause steadier and heavier rain on Monday.

Still another low pressure wave will likely give us more rain Tuesday into early Wednesday morning followed by clearing.  Temperatures most of next week will average slightly above normal.

Mostly clear skies early this morning and temperatures are quite cold with readings ranging from around 20 in the Clifton area to around 10 in some inland areas, some record lows have been recorded, winds are quite light.

A strong Arctic high pressure will build over the area today providing plenty of sunshine, temperatures in the afternoon will be slightly milder than yesterday and with much less wind it will not feel as harsh.

A warm front will be approaching on Friday giving us a chance of light rain during the day with possibly a wintery mix especially inland in the morning, temperatures will rise to near normal by the afternoon.

Saturday we will be in the warm sector and tempertures will rise into the low 60s but as a backdoor cold front approaches from the north that may touch off some showers in the afternoon and at night.

Cooler and unsettled conditions Sunday through at least Tuesday with considerable cloudiness and periods of rain likely, the best likelihood of rain will be from Sunday night into Monday morning.

WEDNESDAY MARCH 22, 2017  5:50 A.M.

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures have fallen to the upper 30s in the Clifton area to the low 30s further inland, winds are gusty out of the northwest.

A cold front came through early this morning and Arctic high pressure will be building into the area, temperatures that are in the upper 30s this morning will drop below freezing by late this afternoon and with winds gusting to 45 mph it will feel rather uncomfortable, a wind advisory is in effect.

The center of the Arctic air will be over us on Thursday, it will start off very cold with temperatures well down into the teens, during the day the temperatures will be a little milder and with diminishing winds it will not feel as harsh as today.

Milder on Friday as a warm front approaches the area, there is a chance of some light rain with the front.

Saturday will be quite mild but a backdoor cold front will sag south of our area by Saturday night with a chance of showers.

Unsettled and cool weather Sunday through early next week, an onshore flow of cooler air will be with us and waves of low pressure will cause periods of rain through the period with the heaviest rain expected Sunday night through Monday morning.
