Skies this early morning are mostly clear and temperatures range from the mid 50s in the Clifton area down to the upper 40s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

Today will start off sunny but as a cold front approaches we should see an increase in clouds and there will be a chance of afternoon  showers and thunderstorms.  Southwest winds will be a little brisk this afternoon.

High pressure will build in on Wednesday and control our weather through Friday.  Temperatures will be a little cool Wednesday and Thursday but become warmer on Friday.

A cold front will cross the area Friday night and stall to our south,  weak low pressure along the front will give us a chance of showers mainly Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning, temperatures will be seasonably mild.

Dry and pleasant weather to start next week but become warmer by the middle of next week.

Sunshine returns and not as cool today after morning rain! Milder on Tuesday but with a chance of showers and thunderstorms!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are cloudy early this morning and there is some light rain falling over parts of the area,  it is cool with temperatures ranging from the low 50s in Clifton down to the upper 40s further inland, winds are from the northeast averaging 5-10 mph.

An area of low pressure is moving offshore this morning and rain should end by 8 a.m.  We should see some sunshine later this morning and it won’t be as cool as yesterday with highs reaching the 70s.  Weak high pressure will be moving into the area from the west.

The high pressure will move off the coast on Tuesday and a cold front will approach and move off the coast at night, showers are likely mainly in the afternoon and evening with a possibility of a thunderstorm.  Temperatures will be seasonably warm.

Dry weather Wednesday through Friday is likely, temperatures will be cool on Wednesday and then gradually become warmer by Friday.   A weak cold front is expected to come through dry on Friday.

Unsettled weather again for the weekend as an area of low pressure may develop along a front to our south increasing the chances of rain Saturday afternoon into Sunday.

Skies are cloudy early this morning and there are some lingering light showers in parts of the area, temperatures range from the upper 50s into the low 60s, winds are easterly around 5-10 mph.

Today we will have considerable cloudiness and with the clouds and an onshore flow the temperatures will not rise much, remaining mainly in the 60s.

A weak low pressure area will give us rain from late tonight into mainly tomorrow morning,  precipitation amounts should be around 1/2 of inch.  Temperatures will continued to be cool.

Milder on Tuesday and we should see some sunshine as a weak high builds over the area.  A cold front will come through at night giving us a chance of showers.

Mainly dry Wednesday through the start of the weekend.  Temperatures will be cool on Wednesday but gradually get milder by the weekend.

Skies are partly cloudy early this morning and temperatures are warm again mainly ranging from the low to the upper 60s, humidity is high and the winds are mainly calm.

A weak cold front will cross the area today providing mostly cloudy skies and warm and humid conditions, there will be some showers likely but they will be scattered and not everyone will see any rain.

Much cooler on Sunday but we should stay dry during the day but low pressure is expected to develop offshore and move up the coast this will likely give us rain mainly from late Sunday night into Monday morning, temperatures will be cool.

A little milder on Tuesday but some showers may develop as a weak cold front approaches the area.

Wednesday through Friday should be dry with a gradual increase in temperatures.

MAY 2018 CLIMATE SUMMARY:

May’s temperatures averaged 66.6 degrees which was 4.7 degrees above normal and was the 2nd warmest may since I began records in 1973.   The highest temperature was 93 degrees set on May 3rd and 26th.   We had 5 days of above 90 degrees.   The lowest temperature was 44 degrees on May 1.      Precipitation was a bit below normal with 3.71″ accumulating, however we had measurable rain on 16 days and it was a rather cloudy month.

Skies are cloudy early this morning and there is considerable dense fog around along with some showers moving in from the south, temperatures are mainly in the mid to upper 60s, winds are mainly calm..

A warm front crossing the area will give us some showers this morning followed by some breaks of sunshine, temperatures will be much warmer along with high humidity as dew points reach to around the oppressive 70 degree mark.   A cold front approaching from the northwest will give us a chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy and still warm but gradually become less humid later in the day and night.  There will be showers especially in the morning..

It now looks like Sunday will be dry with some sunshine but it will be much cooler with much lower humidity as high pressure builds from New England.

Cool weather will continue into next week and an area of low pressure may give us rain from Monday afternoon through Tuesday night.
