The storm that gave us the rain and wind yesterday has moved to off the Maine coast and with high pressure building in from the west will give us a northwest flow of cold air. It will be breezy which will make it feel colder but the winds will not be as strong as yesterday. Skies will be mostly sunny.

High pressure will then dominate our weather this week with dry conditions. Temperatures will be below normal Monday through Wednesday but then become above normal Thursday into next weekend.

An intensifying storm off the Virginia coast this morning will move northeast. Rain from this system will continue through the morning possibly heavy at times. The rain should end by early this afternoon with rainfall amounts around an inch. Clearing late in the day. Temperatures will be steady in the 40s. Winds from the north will gust to 25 mph.

Sunday will be a chilly and breezy day but with plenty of sunshine.

Most of next week will be dry as high pressure will dominate, temperatures will be seasonably cold Monday through Wednesday then become milder Thursday and Friday with mild conditions likely to continue into next weekend.

Low pressure developing across the Tennessee Valley will move toward our area and intensify. Rain from this system will develop mainly by 3-4 p.m. and become heavy at times tonight into Saturday morning and it will become breezy with gusts to 30 mph. The rain may mix with snow before ending across the higher elevations to our north and west. Rainfall totals will average around an inch.

Now it appears that Sunday will be dry but with colder than average temperatures.

Mainly dry weather much of next week with temperatures at or below normal.

High pressure build over the area will give us sunny skies today with high temperatures around 10 degrees milder than yesterday and with lighter winds it will be a more comfortable day.

Models are now closer to agreement that a low pressure system in the Gulf states will move toward our area on Friday with rain likely to develop in the afternoon and continued possibly heavy at times into Saturday morning. Showers are then possible Saturday afternoon into Sunday and some of these showers may be mixed with snow across the higher elevations to our north and west.

Dry and seasonably cold weather is expected Monday through at least Wednesday.

The low pressure that gave our area the heavy rain on Monday has moved to Quebec which will give us another breezy and cold day today. Some clouds this morning but the afternoon should be mostly sunny.

High pressure building into the area will give us another sunny day on Thursday with slightly milder temperatures.

Friday will start off dry but a low pressure system will give us a good chance of rain from Friday night through at least Sunday morning. The models continue to not be in agreement with the outcome of this system so the confidence in this forecast remains low.

Mainly dry with temperatures slightly below normal early next week.

CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR NOVEMBER 2020.

The average temperature for the month was 6.5 degrees above normal making this the second warmest November since 1973 with 1975 being the warmest. Central Park recorded its warmest November while Newark airport had the 6th warmest November. The highest temperature was 82 degrees on the 9th, the lowest 25 degrees recorded on the 19th. Precipitation was above normal with 6.07″ falling, 2.66″ of which fell on the 30th. No snow was reported.
