The combination of a strong storm well out in the Atlantic and high pressure to our west will cause a very strong northwest flow of bitterly cold air. Winds will gust to above 40 mph at times. Highs will only reach the low 20s and with the wind it will feel like the single digits much of today. There is a slight chance of some snow flurries especially over inland areas.

A complex low pressure system will approach the area on Sunday with increasing cloudiness, snow is likely by Sunday night and should continue through Tuesday. The computer models are still not in agreement of how much snow will fall with most models indicating almost a foot of snow, but the latest European model has most of the heavy snow just to our south only giving the area less than 6 inches of the white stuff.

The low pressure that caused the precipitation yesterday and overnight is moving further offshore and we should still be mostly cloudy today but temperatures will moderate somewhat with highs near 40.

Another storm will be developing offshore on Thursday but far enough away to not give our area any precipitation, but will cause a strong northerly flow of colder air on Thursday.

The coldest two day period of the season will occur Friday into Saturday with highs only in the 20s and overnight lows in the low teens. Winds will continue to be strong on Friday but diminish on Saturday.

Still another low pressure area will move into the area on Sunday which will give us a good chance of snow later Sunday into Monday. Too early to tell what the track and intensity of this storm will be and if we get any significant snowfall.
