Skies are cloudy early on this Memorial Day morning and temperatures continue to be chilly with readings at 5 a.m. ranging from 48 in Clifton down to 43 at High Point, winds are calm or light northwesterly.

The low pressure that gave us the rain and record chilly temperatures will be moving to our northeast as high pressure builds from the west. Skies should remain mostly cloudy but we should see some breaks of sunshine by this afternoon. High temperatures will be around 20 degrees higher than this weekend but still a little below normal for this time of year.

Tuesday still looks to be the nicest day of this week with plenty of sunshine and temperatures rising to near normal.

A slow moving trough of low pressure will be influencing our weather from late Wednesday night through Saturday with the most likelihood of heavier showers Thursday night into Friday. However unlike this past weekend temperatures will be at or slightly above normal with an increase in humidity.

Looks like a stretch of very warm to hot weather next week.

Yesterday’s high of 49 was the latest in the season that it did not reach 50 degrees, previously the latest that it stayed in the 40s was May 21st, 1990 when the high was 46.

Another unseasonably cool day today with rain which may become heavy at times during the afternoon and evening as another low pressure moves up the coast. Additional rainfall amounts of an inch can be expected. High temperatures will only reach around 50 but we should have a little less wind than yesterday.

We should have some slow clearing on Memorial Day, temperatures will not be as cool with highs near 70 which is still below normal.

Tuesday still looks to be the nicest day of this week with sunny skies and warmer temperatures.

Low pressure just offshore will give us cloudy skies today with periods of mostly light rain, high temperatures will only be in the 50s along with brisk northeast winds.

Still another low pressure offshore will give us another shot of significant rain on Sunday with an inch or more expected. Temperatures will continue to be unseasonably cool with highs again only in the 50s, far cry from last weekend when highs were in the 90s.

We hopefully will dry out for Memorial Day but the day should remain mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the morning, temperatures will not be as cool.

Tuesday looks to be the best day of the upcoming week with dry conditions and seasonably mild temperatures.

Well the holiday weekend weather should’ve been last week when temperatures were near 90, as this coming weekend will be unseasonably chilly with periods of rain through Sunday.

Today will become cloudy with rain developing around 4 p.m. and possibly becoming heavy at times tonight, temperatures will top out in the upper 60s as low pressure develops to our south. Rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches likely.

Periods of mainly light rain will continue Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will be quite chilly with highs in the 50s and with northeast winds gusting to 30 mph will make it feel even colder. Sunday will only be slightly milder with less wind.

Hopefully we can see some sunshine on Memorial Day with milder temperatures.

Warmer the rest of the week as high pressure moves into the area, there will be a chance of showers Wednesday and Thursday.

Temperatures continue to be mild with readings at 5 a.m. ranging from 64 in Clifton down to 60 at Walpack. The humidity is still high with dew points in the 60s and the winds are mainly calm or light westerly.

A cold front will cross the area around daybreak this morning followed by mostly sunny skies, warm temperatures and becoming much less humid. Highs will be in the 80s but the dew points will drop into the 40s by this afternoon.

Our first significant rain since May 9-10 is expected Friday afternoon into at least Saturday morning, rainfall amounts of an inch or more is likely. With clouds and an onshore wind high temperatures will only be in the 60s on Friday and only in the 50s on Saturday.

Unsettled weather will likely continue Sunday and on Memorial Day as some computer models have another storm forming offshore giving us another chance of rain while some models keep our area dry. Temperatures will continue to be cool.

We finally dry out by Tuesday with milder temperatures.
