Good morning everyone!

Very mild air ahead of a strong cold front as temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 54 in Clifton down to 29 at Vernon where the front has passed. Rain is falling in the Clifton area but freezing rain across our extreme northern areas. Winds are gusty out of the south here in Clifton but northerly north of the front.

RECORD HIGH: 63 – 2019 RECORD LOW: 3 – 1996

The strong cold front will pass to our south before sunrise this morning and temperatures in the mid 50s now will fall below freezing by noon. Rain from the front will change to freezing rain before ending early this evening which will cause slippery conditions on untreated roads and sidewalks.

Arctic high pressure will move into our area on Saturday, early morning lows will be nearly 35 degrees colder than this morning as we should drop to near 20 and stay in the 20s during the day. A brisk northerly wind will make it feel even colder.

Mainly dry and quiet weather for much of next week, there is a disturbance that will develop off the coast but stay far enough to our east to cause any precipitation on Tuesday. High temperature should be in the 40s much of the week but a cold front may cause colder conditions on Friday.
