Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 34 in Clifton down to 28 at High Point. Winds are light from the northwest.

Low pressure that gave us the mixed precipitation yesterday is moving further offshore as a high pressure builds toward our area from the mid-west. Early clouds will give way to mostly sunny skies and it will be pleasantly mild with highs in the 40s.

Mainly dry weather with above normal temperatures tomorrow through Saturday. There is only a slight chance of rain from a weak cold front on Thursday and again on Saturday. High temperatures on Saturday expected to rise well up into the 50s.

Colder and mainly dry weather Sunday through early next week. A coastal storm is expected to develop on Monday but should be well offshore to give us any significant precipitation.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, low in the upper 20s.

WEDNESDAY – FEB 9 – Sunny, high in the mid 40s.

THURSDAY – FEB 10 – Mostly cloudy in the morning then becoming mostly sunny, high near 50.

FRIDAY – FEB 11 – Sunny, high in the upper 40s.

SATURDAY – FEB 12 – Partly sunny and quite mild, high in the upper 50s.

SUNDAY – FEB 13 – Partly sunny and colder, high in the upper 30s.

MONDAY – FEB 14 – Mostly sunny and cold, high in the low 30s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory will be in effect from noon today through 10 p.m. tonight for westerly winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-5 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Wednesday through Friday; possible advisories on Saturday.
