Very nice weather for the first two days of September with high pressure still in control which will give us mostly sunny weather both days with near seasonable temperatures and continued low humidity.

The holiday weekend looks to be a little unsettled, Saturday should be dry and warm with a slow increase in humidity.

Sunday should be a very warm day and humid as the high pressure moves offshore a cold front will be approaching from the west that will give us the next chance of showers Sunday afternoon and evening.

Still a chance of showers on Labor Day and it will not be as warm.

The high pressure will move offshore on Sunday and we will have more of an onshore flow so temperatures will be slightly lower, but the humidity will rise with dew points averaging in the upper 60s.

Yesterday we received much needed rainfall and although my station recorded less than an inch of rain some areas received much more with 3 1/2 inches in the Sparta area and 4 1/2 inches across Long Beach Island.

Today will be a much quieter day with mostly cloudy skies as the weak front in our area weakens. Only a low chance of an afternoon or evening shower and thunderstorm. High temperatures will be a few degrees higher than yesterday and it will still be humid with dew points mainly in the upper 60s.

High pressure will then build into our area on Wednesday giving us a sunny day with quite warm temperatures.

Our first significant rainfall in several weeks today with rain possibly heavy at times especially this morning as a warm front moves to our north. A cold front will cross the area Tuesday night giving our area a good chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon and evening, with more sunshine temperatures will be higher and the humidity will remain high.
