Skies are mostly clear early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 66 in Clifton down to 60 at High Point. Winds are calm or light from the west and the humidity is still a little high with dew points in the 60s along with some patchy fog mainly inland.

High pressure will build into our area today and it will be a sunny day, breezy with much less humidity by the afternoon as dew points fall into the 50s. High temperatures will still rise to the upper 80s.

Very nice weather for the first two days of September with high pressure still in control which will give us mostly sunny weather both days with near seasonable temperatures and continued low humidity.

The holiday weekend looks to be a little unsettled, Saturday should be dry and warm with a slow increase in humidity.

Sunday should be a very warm day and humid as the high pressure moves offshore a cold front will be approaching from the west that will give us the next chance of showers Sunday afternoon and evening.

Still a chance of showers on Labor Day and it will not be as warm.

A southwesterly flow of very warm and humid air ahead of a cold front that will cross the area early Wednesday morning. Skies should become mostly sunny after early morning clouds. Dew points will be around 70 and the high temperatures should again be well up into the 80s. The front will likely give us some showers tonight.

Tomorrow will be another warm day but with much less humidity as high pressure builds into the area from the west.

Continued dry with low humidity Thursday and Friday with seasonably warm temperatures.

The holiday weekend looks to be warm with an increase in humidity. We should stay mainly dry but a backdoor cold front may cause some showers Sunday afternoon and evening followed by cooler temperatures on Labor Day.

NOTE: On this date 11 years ago Hurricane Irene caused massive flooding in our area with 9.27″ of rain falling on August 27th into the 28th.

High pressure building into our area from the northwest will give us a sunny day today with quite warm temperatures and moderate humidity with dew points in the low to mid 60s.

The high pressure will move offshore on Sunday and we will have more of an onshore flow so temperatures will be slightly lower, but the humidity will rise with dew points averaging in the upper 60s.

Very warm and humid weather to end the month of August. A cold front will slowly approach and come through our area on Wednesday, showers are possible Tuesday afternoon through the day on Wednesday.

Cooler and less humid conditions are expected Thursday and Friday.
