Skies are cloudy early on this Thursday morning and rain is falling over much of the area. Temperatures continue to be cool with readings ranging from 46 in Clifton down to 41 at High Point. Winds are from the northeast averaging 5-10 mph. The air quality is good with an index of 33.

Low pressure will move slowly through the area today giving us cloudy skies with frequent periods of rain. The rain will taper off to occasional showers tonight. High temperatures will continue to be about 20 degrees below normal. Additional rainfall will be around 3/4 of an inch.
Not quite as chilly on Friday and we see some breaks in the clouds but there still will be a chance of mainly afternoon showers as the low pressure moves slowly away from our area.
This holiday weekend looks to be dry as high pressure builds over the area. Temperatures will be below normal Saturday and Sunday and near normal on Memorial Day.
Another frontal system will give the area another chance of showers Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures slightly below normal.

TUESDAY – MAY 27 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, highs in the upper 60s.
WEDNESDAY – MAY 28 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, highs in the upper 60s.
MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Friday morning for east-northeast winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 5-8 feet.
OUTLOOK: Possible advisories for higher seas on Friday; no advisories expected for Saturday through Monday.
