Periods of rain this morning then possibly some sunshine this afternoon but still with a chance of more showers! Mostly sunny, breezy and cool on Sunday! Mainly dry next week with a warming trend with possibly our first 90 degree day Wednesday or Thursday!

Skies are cloudy early on this Saturday morning and there is rain falling over parts of our area. Temperatures are mild with readings ranging from 60 in Clifton down to 53 at High Point. Winds are mainly from the east-southeast averaging 5-10 mph. The barometric pressure is quite low for this time of year with a reading of 29.19″. The air quality is good with and index of 45.

The rather deep low pressure will move over our area this morning and then off the New England coast by this evening. Rain possibly heavy at times this morning should taper off by later this morning. We may have some breaks of sunshine this afternoon but a strong cold front may cause more showers this afternoon. It will become breezy this afternoon and the humidity will drop as dew points near 60 this morning will fall to the 40s by this evening.

The low pressure will move to the Canadian Maritime region on Sunday as high pressure builds from the northwest. Skies will be mostly sunny but it will be cool and breezy.

High pressure will dominate our weather most of next week with a warming trend. Highs Wednesday and Thursday may hit the 90 degree mark for the first time this year.

A cold front may cause some showers Thursday night into Friday.

TODAY – MAY 31 – Showers this morning with a chance of thunderstorms, rain may be heavy at times. Possible some sunny breaks this afternoon with still some showers likely, breezy, highs near 70. Wind gusts to 30 mph.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy this evening with showers likely becoming partly cloudy afternoon midnight, breezy with gusts to 25 mph. Lows in the upper 40s.

SUNDAY – JUNE 1 – Sunny in the morning then partly sunny in the afternoon, breezy, highs near 70. Possible wind gusts to 25 mph.

MONDAY – JUNE 2 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 70s.

TUESDAY – JUNE 3 – Sunny, highs in the low 80s.

WEDNESDAY – JUNE 4 – Mostly sunny, quite warm and becoming more humid, highs in the upper 80s.

THURSDAY – JUNE 5 – Partly sunny, hot and humid, highs near 90. Chance of showers at night.

FRIDAY – JUNE 6 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, highs in the mid 80s.

MARINE FORECAST: A gale warning is in effect until 11 a.m. this morning for westerly winds gusting to 40 knots, seas 3-6 feet.
