Extreme heat today and again on Wednesday with a chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night! Cooler but humid on Thursday with showers and thunderstorms with some flooding possible! Mostly cloudy and quite cool on Friday with some lingering showers in the morning! Very nice weather for the weekend into early next week!

Good morning everyone!

We are back online today after missing yesterday’s blog due to a problem at a data center in Newark.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures range from 74 in Clifton down to 65 at Sandyston. Winds are mainly calm. The air quality is moderate with an index of 68.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR JULY 29TH.

AVERAGE HIGH: 85 AVERAGE LOW: 67

RECORD HIGH: 95 – 2020 RECORD LOW: 55 – 1992

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 96 (New Record) LOW: 72 PRECIPITATION: NONE

Extreme heat will be with us the next two days as a strong high pressure ridge will be over us. High temperatures both days will be in the upper 90s to near 100 and with dew points in the upper 60s to near 70 will cause heat indexes to rise to around 105 degrees. A cold front approaching our area Wednesday afternoon will give us a chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly at night.

Thursday will be cooler but staying humid as the cold front slowly moves to our south. Showers and thunderstorms are likely with rain possibly heavy at times which could cause some flash flooding.

After lingering showers Friday morning it will remain mostly cloudy with quite cool temperatures as highs should only be in the 70s.

Beautiful weather for early August this weekend which will extend into early next week as we will have plenty of sunshine each day with near seasonable temperatures and very low humidity.
