Last day of extreme heat today with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms! Cooler with showers likely with a chance of thunderstorms with rain heavy at times on Thursday! Unseasonably cool and breezy on Friday with lingering showers! Very nice summer weather for the weekend extending into next week!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures once again are very warm with readings ranging from 77 in Clifton down to 66 at Sandyston. The winds are mainly calm. The air quality is moderate with an index of 66.

One last day of extreme heat today ahead of a cold front. High temperatures will reach the upper 90s and with dew points near 70 the heat index will approach 105 degrees and an extreme heat warning remains in effect. We should see more cloudiness by the afternoon with a low chance of a shower and thunderstorm this afternoon .

Thursday the cold front will move into our area and we will likely have showers and a few thunderstorms, some rain may be heavy at times through Thursday evening. High temperatures will be cooler mainly in the low 80s with gradually lowering humidity.

Lingering showers on Friday and it will be unseasonably cool with a rather brisk northeast wind, highs will only be in the 70s.

Very nice weather for the weekend into at least the early part of next week with plenty of sunshine each day along with slightly cooler than average temperatures along with low humidity as Canadian high pressure moves into our area.

Looking ahead there is no sign of the return of high heat for at least the next two weeks.

FRIDAY – AUG 1 – Mostly cloudy with showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cool and breezy, highs only in the low 70s.

SATURDAY – AUG 2 – Sunny, highs in the low 80s.

SUNDAY – AUG 3 – Sunny, highs in the mid 80s.

MONDAY – AUG 4 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 80s.

TUESDAY – AUG 5 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 80s.
