The coolest air of the season Thursday and Friday with possible frost inland! Seasonably cool weather for the weekend and staying mainly dry!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures are mild with readings ranging from 62 in Clifton down to 53 at Sandyston. Winds are calm or light southwesterly. The air quality is moderate with an index of 54.

High pressure offshore will give us a warm southwesterly flow of air today along with mostly sunny skies. It will become breezy this afternoon as a cold front approaches our area. High temperatures will be in the low 80s. which is near record high levels.

The front will move through on Wednesday morning accompanied by showers that may be heavy at times. Rainfall amounts will be between 1/2 to 1 inch with the heaviest rain between 2-8 a.m. Becoming much cooler after the frontal system along with clearing by later in the afternoon.

The coolest air of the season is expected Thursday and Friday despite plenty of sunshine both days. There will be a chance of frost Friday morning mainly over inland areas.

As of now the weekend looks to be dry with near seasonable temperatures however there is a slight chance that a coastal storm may affect our area, but as of now it is expected to stay far enough offshore.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with showers developing mainly after midnight, breezy, lows near 60.

WEDNESDAY – OCT 8 – Showers with a possible thunderstorm in the morning, clearing by later in the afternoon, cooler, highs near 70.

THURSDAY – OCT 9 – Sunny and cool, highs only in the low 60s.

FRIDAY – OCT 10 – Sunny, highs in the mid 60s.

SATURDAY – OCT 11 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 60s.

SUNDAY – OCT 12 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 60s.

MONDAY – OCT 13 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 60s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory will be in effect from 4 p.m. this afternoon through 8 a.m. Wednesday morning for southerly winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK: Advisories likely to continue Wednesday through Thursday night; no advisories expected for Friday; advisories possible for building winds and seas on Saturday.
