Skies are mainly partly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and with calm winds there is a large spread in temperatures with readings ranging from 46 in Clifton down to a chilly 30 degrees at Pequest. The air quality is good with an index of 37.

High pressure is moving offshore as a cold front approaches from the west. Today will partly sunny, mild and becoming breezy by this afternoon.

The rather strong cold front will come through tonight with only a slight chance of a sprinkle followed by a strong west to northwest flow of drier air. Wind gusts to above 45 mph are likely.

Thursday will be cooler along with sunny skies and slowly diminishing winds.

Friday will be milder and another front will likely give us showers Friday night into early Saturday morning.

Mild over the weekend as a Pacific high pressure builds over the area. Saturday will be dry but there will be a chance of rain on Sunday as a stronger frontal system approaches from the west.

Much cooler weather Monday and Tuesday as Arctic high pressure builds into the area. Monday will be breezy with even a slight chance of a snow flurry mainly over inland areas. Tuesday morning should give us the coldest temperature of the season with low temperatures across the area dropping below freezing.
