Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and temperatures are mild with readings ranging from 50 in Clifton down to 40 at Hackettstown. Winds are light from the southwest. The air quality is moderate with an index of 58. The overnight rain ended around 2:30 a.m.

A frontal system is moving through the area this morning followed by a strong westerly flow of cooler air. Temperatures in the low 50s this morning will fall to the 40s by sunset. Wind gusts to 40 mph are likely. Skies will become mostly sunny by this afternoon.

The strong low over eastern Canada along with high pressure building from the southwest will continued to give us dry but cool weather Monday and Tuesday. Winds will still be gusty but not as strong as today.

Dry weather with cool temperatures and much less wind Wednesday through the day on Thursday as high pressure moves closer to our area.

Chances of rain Thursday night through Saturday as another frontal system approaches our area however temperatures will be milder.

Looking ahead at this point next week should be rather mild.

WEDNESDAY – NOV 19 – Partly sunny, highs near 50.

THURSDAY – NOV 20 – Mostly cloudy, highs in the low 50s, chance of rain at night.

FRIDAY – NOV 21 – Cloudy with a chance of rain, highs in the upper 50s.

SATURDAY – NOV 22 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain, highs in the upper 50s.

MARINE FORECAST: A gale warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Monday evening for westerly winds gusting to 45 knots, seas 4-7 feet.
