Snow developing around 8 a.m., quickly changing to rain by 10 a.m. with accumulations of only 1/2″ in the Clifton area with somewhat higher amounts to our north and west! Dry and seasonably cold Wednesday and Thursday! Dry but very cold on Friday! Low chance of snow Friday night! Mainly dry with seasonably cold temperatures for the weekend! Continued dry but very cold again early next week!

Skies are mainly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures range from 30 in Clifton down to 22 at High Point. Winds are calm or light northerly. The air quality is moderate with an index of 52.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR DECEMBER 2ND:

A low pressure system will be moving into our area today with precipitation starting as snow shortly after 8 a.m. and accumulating to less than 1/2 of an inch before quickly changing to rain. Further to our north and west accumulation will be mainly from 2-4 inches. Rainfall amounts will be near an inch. The precipitation should end by early this evening.

High pressure will then build into our are for Wednesday and Thursday giving us dry conditions with seasonably cold temperatures. A cold front will come through dry Thursday evening.

Much colder on Friday with overnight lows in the teens and highs only near freezing despite plenty of sunshine. There is a low chance of some light snow Friday night as a weak low pressure system will be moving to our south and east.

The weekend weather looks mainly dry with continued below normal temperatures.

The dry weather should continue early next week but it will very cold.

TONIGHT – Chance of rain in the early evening then clearing and breezy, lows in the upper 20s, wind gusts to 25 mph.

WEDNESDAY – DEC 3 – Sunny, highs in the low 40s.

THURSDAY – DEC 4 – Partly sunny, highs in the low 40s.

FRIDAY – DEC 5 – Mostly sunny and very cold, highs in the low 30s. chance of light snow at night.

SATURDAY – DEC 6 – Partly sunny, highs near 40

SUNDAY – DEC 7 – Partly sunny, highs near 40.

MONDAY – DEC 8 – Mostly sunny and very cold, highs in the low 30s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – A small craft advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. this morning through 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon for northwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected for Wednesday night; advisories possible for Thursday; no advisories expected for Friday and Saturday.

CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR NOVEMBER 2025 – RECORDS BEGAN IN 1973

November’s temperature averaged 45.1 degrees which was slightly below normal. The highest temperature was 68 degrees set on the 5th and again on the 8th. The lowest temperature was 30 degrees set on the 11th and again on the 29th. Rainfall amount was 1.95″ which was around half of normal. Snowfall was a trace.

CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR THE FALL MONTHS – SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER.

Temperatures averaged slightly above normal while precipitation was below normal with 8.35 inches and was the 6th driest fall on record.
