Skies are mostly clear early on this Saturday morning and temperatures range from 23 in Clifton down to a chilly 7 at Sandyston. Winds are calm or light southwesterly. The air quality is good with an index of 20.

A weak high pressure will be moving off the coast today and we should see an increase in clouds as a low pressure approaches our area. Temperatures will be a little milder today with light winds.

The low pressure area will cause snow mainly from late tonight into Sunday morning with possible accumulations of 2-4″ A cold front will cross the area in the morning followed by much colder air along with gusty winds. Temperatures will drop to the low 20s by sunset.

Monday and Tuesday look to be dry and cold, Monday will still be breezy with less wind on Tuesday as high pressure builds closer to our area.

Milder Wednesday and Thursday but another cold front will give us a chance of rain Thursday night.

High pressure will then build into our area on Friday with cooler temperatures although it will not be as cold as earlier in the week.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with snow developing around 10 p.m., lows in the mid 20s.

SUNDAY – DEC 14 – Cloudy with snow ending by 10 a.m. then becoming mostly sunny, windy and colder, temperatures falling to the low 20s by sunset. Total snow accumulations of 2-4 inches likely.

MONDAY – DEC 15 – Increasing clouds and breezy, highs near 30.

TUESDAY – DEC 16 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 30s.

WEDNESDAY – DEC 17 – Partly sunny and milder, highs in the mid 40s.

THURSDAY – DEC 18 – Mostly cloudy, highs near 50. rain likely at night.

FRIDAY – DEC 19 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 40s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisories is in effect until 6 p.m. this evening for southwest winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK: A gale watch has been issued effective between Sunday afternoon through Monday morning; advisories lingering through Monday night; no advisories expected for Tuesday; possible advisories again for Wednesday.
