Skies are mainly cloudy and there is some light snow falling in some areas. Temperatures range from 35 in Clifton down to 28 at High Point. Winds are calm or light southwesterly. The air quality is moderate with an index of 54.

A weak disturbance along a warm front will cause some light snow this morning accumulating to 1-2 inches in the Clifton area with 2-4″ further inland. Winds will be light.

Wednesday will be a mild day but windy as the pressure gradient increases from a low off the Canadian Maritimes and high pressure build from the west. Skies will be mostly sunny and winds will gust to 35 mph at times.

Christmas Day looks to be dry with mostly cloudy skies.

Very unsettled weather for Friday through the weekend as a series of low pressure systems that will affect the area. The best chance of accumulating snow looks to be Friday night into Saturday morning. Still a chance of rain showers on Sunday followed by dry but colder weather for early next week.

FRIDAY – DEC 26 – Cloudy and colder with snow likely developing in the afternoon and continuing at night, highs in the low 30s.

SATURDAY – DEC 27 – Cloudy with a chance of snow in the morning then a chance of rain or snow in the afternoon, highs in the mid 30s.

SUNDAY – DEC 28 – Cloudy with rain likely, highs in the low 40s.

MONDAY – DEC 29 – Partly sunny and colder, highs in the low 30s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 pm. Wednesday afternoon for westerly winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 3-5 feet.
