Skies are mostly clear early on this Christmas Eve with temperatures ranging from 34 in Clifton down to 27 at Hackettstown. Winds are mainly from the southwest averaging 5-10 mph. The air quality is moderate with an index of 74. Also there may be some black ice especially inland from the precipitation we had yesterday.

Today will be a sunny day but windy ahead of a cold front that will come through dry this evening. Temperatures will be near normal with highs in the low 40s.

Mostly cloudy skies for Christmas Day but we should remain dry with again high temperatures in the 40s.

A storm system will give us snow Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. Possible accumulations of 3-6 inches.

Another frontal system will give us rain mainly Sunday afternoon through the evening with still a chance of rain on Monday followed by much colder weather for Tuesday.

MONDAY – DEC 29 – Partly sunny with a low chance of a shower, highs in the upper 30s.

TUESDAY – DEC 30 – Partly sunny, windy and colder, highs near 30.

MARINE FORECAST: A gale warning is in effect until 4 p.m. this afternoon for northwest winds gusting to 35 knots, seas 3-5 feet.
