Skies are cloudy and there is some fog and drizzle, temperatures range from 34 in Clifton down to 31 at Hackettstown and High Point. Winds are mainly calm. There still may be some patchy black ice on untreated roads and sidewalks. The air quality is moderate with an index of 61.

A warm front will move through our area this morning and a rather brisk southwesterly flow will bring milder temperatures this morning along with some showers. A cold front will then cross our area in the early afternoon which will be followed by a strong westerly flow of colder air. Some wind gusts to 40 mph are possible.

Tuesday will be a cold and windy day with highs only around freezing and winds still gusting to 40 mph with diminishing winds at night.

Wednesday will have lighter winds but still colder than normal temperatures. A weak disturbance will give us a low chance of some light snow or flurries at night.

Quite cold but dry weather on New Year’s Day that should extend through the weekend.
