Skies are mainly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and it is mild with temperatures ranging from 39 in Clifton down to 28 at Basking Ridge. Winds are mainly calm. The air quality is good with an index of 47.

A frontal system approaching from the west will cause cloudy skies today along with mild temperatures. There is a low chance of some afternoon showers.

Showers are likely tonight, and as the front moves to our east colder air will move into the area tomorrow morning with some of the showers possibly mixing or changing to snow before ending. There may be a dusting of snow mainly across the higher elevations to our north and west.

The rest of Thursday there will be clearing but it will be windy and colder with temperatures dropping to the 20s by sunset and with winds gusting to 35 mph will make it feel quite cold.

Friday looks to be a cold day with diminishing winds, skies will be mostly sunny.

Saturday will not be that cold but now a weak disturbance may touch off some rain or snow showers in the afternoon.

High pressure will dominate our weather Sunday through early next week. We should remain dry but temperatures will be below normal.

SUNDAY – JAN 18 – Partly sunny, highs in the low 30s.
