Mostly sunny, breezy and very cold today! Increasing cloudiness on Wednesday and not as cold in the afternoon! Partly sunny and milder on Thursday! Dry and cold on Friday! Frigid temperatures over the weekend with an increasing chance of significant snowstorm late Saturday into Sunday!

Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures are quite cold with readings ranging from 15 in Clifton down to 3 at Sandyston. Winds are gusty out of the west bringing most wind chills down to below zero. The air quality is good with an index of 24.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR JANUARY 20TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 36 AVERAGE LOW: 21

RECORD HIGH: 59 – 2006 RECORD LOW: -5 – 1994

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 30 LOW: 19 PRECIPITATION: NONE

Arctic high pressure will build into the area today and despite plenty of sunshine it will be very cold with highs only reaching the low 20s. Wind gusts to 25 mph will make it feel colder. Winds diminish tonight.

After a very cold Wednesday morning temperatures will moderate somewhat in the afternoon, skies will become mostly cloudy by the afternoon.

Thursday looks to be the only day that it will be above normal this week as high pressure moves offshore. A cold front will come through day at night.

Friday will be colder with partly cloudy skies. An Arctic cold front is expected to come through dry at night.

Frigid Arctic air for the weekend and a low pressure area developing to our south and west now looks like it may cause some significant snow Saturday night through Sunday night. Snow accumulations will depend on the track and the strength of this system.
