Skies are mainly clear early on this Monday morning and temperatures range from 20 in Clifton down to 10 at High Point. Winds are from the north averaging 5-10 mph. The air quality is good with an index of 31.

A strong Arctic high pressure will give us sunny skies today with temperatures well below normal but the winds will be lighter than yesterday.

The high will move offshore on Tuesday as a low pressure system approaches from the southwest. Precipitation should start after 8 a.m. as a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain changing to rain by the afternoon. Only a dusting of snow accumulations is possible.

Unsettled weather but with a warming trend Wednesday through Friday but with periods of rain likely!

Quite mild over the weekend with most high temperatures in the low 60s. The best chance of showers will be Saturday night.

THURSDAY – MAR 5 – Cloudy with a chance of rain, highs in the mid 50s.

FRIDAY – MAR 6 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain, mainly in the morning, highs near 50.

SATURDAY – MAR 7 – Mostly cloudy, highs near 60, chance of rain at night.

SUNDAY – MAR 8 – Partly sunny, highs in the low 60s.

CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR FEBRUARY 2026:

The average temperature was 30.4 degrees and was the coldest February since 2015. The highest temperature was 55 on the 28th. The lowest was a frigid 1 degree on the 8th. Precipitation was 2.74″ which is slightly below normal. Snowfall was much above average with 23.6 inches accumulating most falling during the blizzard on the 22nd and 23rd when we had 21 inches.

SUMMARY FOR THE WINTER:

The average temperature for the winter months was 29.8 degrees and was the coldest winter since the 2014-2015 season. Precipitation totaled 8.79 inches which was below normal. Snowfall totaled 53.2 inches which is the heaviest amount of snow since the winter season of 2013-2014.
