Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and we have some scattered showers moving through the area. Temperatures are unseasonably mild with readings ranging from 61 in Clifton down to 54 at Hackettstown. Winds are from the south-southwest averaging 5-10 mph. The air quality is moderate with an index of 52.

A south-southwest flow of unseasonably warm air today from high pressure off the southeast coast. High temperatures will approach the 80 degree mark. There is a low chance of a shower but most areas will remain dry.

Wednesday will continue to be warm but a cold front approaching from the north will give us a better chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon and at night.

The front will move to our south on Thursday and it will be much cooler as we have an onshore wind.

The front will return as a warm front giving us warmer conditions Friday through the weekend. There will be a low chance of showers on Saturday but a better chance on Sunday as cold front approaches the area.

Monday should be cooler with partly sunny skies but still a low risk of some showers.

TONIGHT– Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers after midnight, unseasonably mild with lows in the mid 60s.

WEDNESDAY – APR 1 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, highs in the upper 70s. Showers and possibly some thunderstorms at night.

THURSDAY – APR 2 – Cloudy and cooler with a chance of rain, highs in the low 50s.

FRIDAY – APR 3 – Mostly cloudy and milder, highs near 70.

SATURDAY – APR 4 – Partly sunny with a chance of afternoon and evening showers, highs in the mid 70s.

SUNDAY – APR 5 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, highs in the low 70s.

MONDAY – APR 6 – Partly sunny and cooler with a chance of showers, highs in the upper 50s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. this evening for southwest winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 4-7 feet.
