Becoming sunny today with cold temperatures and brisk winds! Slightly milder and sunny on Sunday! Chance of some light snow and rain Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning!

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Saturday morning and there are some snow flurries falling in parts of the area. Temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 22 in Clifton down to 12 at High Point. Winds are brisk out of the northwest. Also, it is quite icy and slippery on untreated roads and sidewalks, so be careful going out this morning.

An Arctic high pressure will give us a sunny day today after early morning cloudiness, temperatures will be cold with highs only in the 20s and with northwest winds gusting to 20 mph will make it feel even colder.

After a very cold night tonight Sunday will be a little milder with highs in the low 30s but with much less wind than today.

A weak low pressure off the coast is now forecasted to be close enough to give us a chance of light rain and snow Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning.

Mainly dry with milder temperatures Tuesday through Friday with most high temperatures in the 40s.

Next weekend should be dry and colder.

TODAY – FEB 5 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of flurries early this morning then becoming mostly sunny, breezy and cold, high in the upper 20s.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear with diminishing winds, low near 12.

SUNDAY – FEB 6 – Sunny, high in the low 30s.

MONDAY – FEB 7 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of light rain and snow in the afternoon and night, high near 40.

TUESDAY – FEB 8 – Chance of light snow in the morning then becoming mostly sunny and milder, high in the mid 40s.

WEDNESDAY – FEB 9 – Sunny, high in the mid 40s.

THURSDAY – FEB 10 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 40s.

FRIDAY – FEB 11 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 40s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. tonight for northwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 5-8 feet.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected Sunday through Monday night; possible small craft advisories on Tuesday; no advisories expected on Wednesday.
