Skies are cloudy early on this Monday morning and there are some showers falling in parts of the area. Temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 52 in Clifton down to 46 at High Point. Winds are calm or light easterly.

A weak frontal system will be in our area today giving us some showers this morning, with cloudy skies prevailing the rest of the day with a chance of some drizzle. With the clouds, high temperatures will only reach around 60 degrees.

Tuesday will be dry during the day and a bit milder despite having mostly cloudy skies.

Another frontal system will likely give us more showers Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Thursday looks to be the best day of this week with plenty of sunshine and highs reaching the low 70s.

Still another frontal system will likely give us some rain Friday into the start of the weekend. With plenty of clouds high temperatures will be below normal through this period.

CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR APRIL 2022

The average temperature was 51.6 degrees which was 0.3 degrees above normal The highest temperature was 86 degrees recorded on the 14th; the low temperature was 35 degrees on the 18th. Precipitation was above normal with 7.33″ accumulating, 3.55″ fell on the 7th causing flooding in our area. No snow fell during the month.
