After some record low temperatures this morning today will be less brutal than on Sunday! Heavy rain Tuesday night into Wednesday morning that may start as snow or sleet Tuesday afternoon!

Record low temperatures this morning in the area with clear skies and light winds as most readings are in the teens.  Yesterday was a very unusually cold day for November with highs not getting out of the 20s, that was the first time since 1989 that this occurred in November and with winds gusting to 40mph made it feel even worse.

Today we will add a couple of degrees to yesterday’s high temperature but with much less wind it will feel much less uncomfortable.

Tuesday we will see an increase of clouds with light precipitation in the form of a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain may occur by noon, most likely inland. As the strong storm moves up the coast warmer air will move in changing all the precipitation to rain. Heavy rain will fall mainly from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning with 2-3 inches expected.  Temperatures will rise into the 50s by Wednesday morning.

The rain will taper off Wednesday afternoon and may change briefly to snow inland before ending early Thanksgiving morning.

Thanksgiving day promises to be a cold windy day but not as bad as on Sunday with most highs in the upper 30s.
