Skies are partly to mostly cloudy in the area with temperatures mainly in the upper teens in the Clifton area but ranges as low as the single digits further inland. I recorded 2 inches of snow yesterday, higher amounts were reported inland.  Be aware of black ice on untreated roads and sidewalks this morning.

Today skies will become mostly sunny with high temperatures nearly 10 degrees higher than yesterday.

Warming trend continues tomorrow through the weekend with highs in the 40s tomorrow and rise to near 50  by Friday with some record breaking 60s by Sunday.  Along with the warm weather shower chances increase Friday night into the weekend with the best likelihood of rain will be on Sunday.

After a cold frontal passage on Monday, cooler weather will move into the region but it will not be as harsh as we have experience the last 10 days.  The snow pack should be all gone after this warm spell and the chances of a white Christmas are very low.

My long range forecast for Christmas Day is for dry conditions with highs in the low 40s.

Sunday – Cloudy with a chance of showers, record high temperatures possible with highs in the mid 60s.

Monday – Mostly Cloudy with a chance of showers, early highs in the 50s falling into the 40s by the afternoon.

Tuesday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 30s.

 

Marine Forecast: Small craft advisory in effect into this afternoon for west winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-6 feet.

Outlook – Advisories likely will be needed Thursday through the weekend.
