Temperatures this morning have reached the very mild low 50s in the Clifton area, the mild temperatures on the snow pack is causing dense fog.

We will have rain showers today ending around noon as an impressive Arctic cold front moves through.  Temperatures that are in the 50s this morning will lower to the 30s by sunset with clearing skies and increasing winds.

Temperatures will  plummet tonight along with wind gusts to 45 mph and by this time tomorrow air temperatures will be an amazing 50 degrees colder than they are now.  Wind chills will be as low as -20.  Any standing water from today’s rain will freeze quickly.

Tuesday will be a sunny but extremely cold day with high temperatures only reaching around 10 degrees and with strong winds continuing the wind chills will remain around -20 all day.  Wind chill and wind advisories are in effect..

Moderating temperatures on Wednesday but still well below normal in the 20s but the winds will greatly diminish.

Temperatures reach the normal 30s on Thursday and there is a chance of light snow at night.

Light snow on Friday may change to rain before ending.

Milder on the weekend with still some shower chances on Saturday, temperatures may rise again to near 50 degrees as this roller coaster winter weather continues.

 

The forecast: Today – Rain showers and fog this morning, clearing and windy this afternoon, morning temperatures in the 50s will drop to the 30s by sunset.

Tonight – Bitterly cold and windy, partly cloudy, low around 5, wind gusts to 45 mph, wind chills -20.

Tuesday – Sunny, very windy and bitterly cold, high only around 12, wind chills -20.

Wednesday – Sunny, high in the mid 20s.

Thursday – Mostly cloudy, high in the mid 30s, chance of light snow at night.

Friday – Chance of light snow in the morning changing to rain, high near 40.

Saturday – Mostly cloudy with a chance of light rain, high in the upper 40s.

Sunday – Partly sunny, high near 50.

 

Marine Forecast: Gale warnings in effect from 1pm today through Tuesday afternoon, Today – South wind becoming westerly to 30 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

Outlook – Small craft advisory till Wednesday morning then conditions below advisory levels Wednesday afternoon through Friday.
