Sunny, breezy and warm with only a slight chance of showers tonight! Mostly sunny and not as warm on Wednesday! Partly sunny with near normal temperatures on Thursday! Showers likely Friday into Saturday! Dry and pleasant Sunday and Monday!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Tuesday morning and with nearly calm winds there is again a large spread in temperatures with readings ranging from 56 in Clifton down to 38 at Hackettstown and Pequest. The air quality is good with an index of 35.

High pressure moving off the coast will give us a brisk southwest flow of warm air with highs rising to the low to mid 80s. A cold front will come through our area tonight with only a slight chance of a shower.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny with lighter winds and temperatures will be a little lower than today as high pressure builds into the area.

Thursday should be dry with near normal temperatures as an onshore wind develops.

A slow moving frontal system will likely give us showers Friday into Saturday. Friday will be quite warm, but it will be cooler on Saturday.

High pressure will then build into our area giving us dry weather Sunday and Monday with near seasonable temperatures.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower after 11 p.m., lows in the low 60s.

WEDNESDAY – APR 30 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 70s.

THURSDAY – MAY 1 – Mostly sunny, highs near 70.

FRIDAY – MAY 2 – Mostly cloudy and warm with shower likely and possibly a thunderstorm, highs in the low 80s.

SATURDAY – MAY 3 – Mostly cloudy with showers likely, highs in the low 70s.

SUNDAY – MAY 4 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 60s.

MONDAY – MAY 5 – Mostly sunny, highs in the low 70s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory has been issued effective between noon today through 6 a.m. Wednesday morning for southwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected for Wednesday and Thursday; possible advisories for Friday; no advisories expected for Saturday.
