Skies are cloudy early on this President’s Day and the light snow is ending. Temperatures range from 27 in Clifton down to 23 at High Point. Winds are from the north-northwest averaging 5-10 mph. The air quality is good with an index of 29. Snowfall amounts are generally less than an inch.

The disturbance that gave us the light snow overnight is moving offshore and high pressure will build into the area giving us mostly sunny skies today along with light winds and near seasonable temperatures with highs near 40.

Tuesday will likely have the best weather this week as high pressure builds over our area. Skies will become mostly sunny after early clouds and highs will be well up into the 40s along with light winds.

Unsettled weather Wednesday through the weekend as a couple of low pressure areas move through our area, rain is expected Wednesday and Wednesday evening and mainly rain again on Friday that may be mixed with snow especially over the higher elevations further inland. Still a chance of rain or snow over the weekend.

TUESDAY – FEB 17 – Becoming mostly sunny after early morning cloudiness, highs in the upper 40s.

THURSDAY – FEB 19 – Mostly cloudy, highs in the low 40s.

FRIDAY – FEB 20 – Rain or snow in the morning then rain in the afternoon, highs in the low 40s.

SATURDAY – FEB 21 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain or snow, highs in the low 40s.

SUNDAY – FEB 22 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain or snow, highs near 40.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday evening for northwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK: Advisories possible on Wednesday; no advisories expected for Thursday and Friday.
