Back to more heat today as a high pressure area slips to our south and we have a rather brisk southwesterly flow of hot and somewhat more humid air today. Highs will be mainly in the mid 90s with dew points in the upper 60s will cause heat indexes to rise to near 100 degrees.
Tomorrow will be even hotter with highs near 100 but unlike the heat we had in early July the dew points will not be oppressive but heat indexes will still rise to 105 degrees and a heat advisory will be in effect. A weak cold front will come through dry at night.
Less hot and much less humid Thursday and Friday as a weak high pressure builds into our area and we will stay dry.
A front will be in our area over the weekend causing unsettled weather with a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday with increasing humidity. Showers will be more likely on Sunday.

SATURDAY – JULY 18 – Partly sunny and becoming more humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, highs in the mid 80s.
SUNDAY – JULY 19 – Partly sunny and humid with showers likely, highs in the upper 80s.
MONDAY – JULY 20 – Mostly sunny with a low chance of a lingering shower, highs in the upper 80s.
MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory will be in effect from 2 p.m. this afternoon through 2 a.m. Wednesday morning for southwest winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-5 feet. Belmar’s ocean temperature is 72 degrees.
