Skies are partly cloudy early on this Friday morning and temperatures range from 66 in Clifton down to 56 at Walpack. Winds are calm or light southwesterly. The air quality is moderate with an index of 60.

Today will be an unseasonably warm day as high pressure offshore give us a brisk southwesterly flow. High temperatures will reach the mid 80s and it will be a little muggy. No temperature records are expected as the record of 92 that was set in 2019 is not in jeopardy. A cold front will come through this evening giving us a chance of showers and thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening.

Saturday will be a pleasant fall day with plenty of sunshine along with cooler temperatures and low humidity.

A disturbance along a stationary front to our south may graze our area Sunday afternoon and evening with some possible showers.

Monday will be seasonably cool and dry. The coolest weather of the season is expected Tuesday and Wednesday with early morning lows both days will be well down into the 40s in the Clifton area with 30s further inland.

A slow warming trend then is expected for the end of next week and we should stay dry.

TONIGHT – Chance of showers and thunderstorms, lows in the upper 50.

SATURDAY – OCT 3 – Sunny, cooler and less humid, highs in the low 70s.

SUNDAY – OCT 4 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers mainly after 2 p.m., highs in the upper 60s.

MONDAY – OCT 5 – Mostly sunny, highs near 70.

TUESDAY – OCT 6 – Sunny and cool, highs in the low 60s.

WEDNESDAY – OCT 7 – Sunny, highs in the mid 60s.

THURSDAY – OCT 8 – Sunny, highs in the low 70s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – South-southwest winds to 10 knots, seas 2-3 feet.

CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR SEPTEMBER 2025. RECORDS STARTED IN 1973.

The temperature averaged 68.3 which is 2.2 degrees above the 54 year average. The highest temperature was 88 degrees on the 3rd and the coolest temperature was 50 degrees on the 24th. Precipitation totaled 7.92″ which is well above normal. Most of the accumulation was the 4.48″ on the 13th and then the 2.31″ set during the nor’easter from the 26th through the 28th.
