TUESDAY  SEPTEMBER 19, 2017  6:00 A.M.

Skies are cloudy although there are some breaks in the clouds inland, temperatures are mild ranging from the upper 60s in the Clifton area to the low 60s further inland, there is a northerly breeze.

Hurricane Jose will be moving north about 250 miles east of the Jersey coast today.  Clouds and some showers today with winds gusting at times to 20 mph, coastal areas will have more rain and wind while inland little or no wind of rain is expected.  Temperatures will be in the 70s.

High pressure will then build into the area on Wednesday and be with us through the weekend, temperatures will be unseasonably warm throughout this period.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with a chance of showers, low in the mid 60s.

WEDNESDAY – SEP 20 – Mostly cloudy, high in the low 80s.

THURSDAY – SEP 21 – Sunny, high in the mid 80s.

FRIDAY – SEP 22 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 80s.

SATURDAY – SEP 23 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

SUNDAY – SEP 24 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 80s.

MONDAY – SEP 25 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – A tropical storm watch is in effect for northerly winds gusting to 40 knots, seas 10-15 feet.  High surf and coastal flood warnings are also in effect.

OUTLOOK – Advisories expected for high seas on Wednesday;  no advisories expected Thursday through Saturday.

 

TROPICS:  Hurricane Jose with top winds of 75 mph is located about 250 miles east-northeast of Cape Hatteras, Jose is expected to slowly weaken as it moves north-northeast off the coast. Dangerous Hurricane Maria has top winds of 155 mph and is located about 200 miles southeast of St. Croix.  Maria is expected to approach St. Croix and Puerto Rico on Wednesday as a Catagory 4 or 5 storm.
