High pressure offshore will give us a southerly flow of slightly warmer and more humid air today. It will be a little breezy this afternoon. A weak front will likely give us some showers later tonight.

The front will wash out on Friday and it will be a mostly sunny day with warm temperatures and higher humidity.

A stronger cold front will likely give us showers and possibly some thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and night with some showers lingering into Sunday morning.

High pressure will then build in from the northwest giving us much cooler and drier air Sunday afternoon that should continue through the middle of next week.

The weak front will wash out over the area Friday morning and we will have mostly sunny skies and it will be warm and humid.

High pressure just off shore with give us a mostly light easterly flow of seasonably mild temperatures today with low humidity and plenty of sunshine.

The high pressure will be moving off the coast on Wednesday but the dry weather will continue with again near seasonable temperatures and mostly sunny skies.

A frontal system will approach our area on Thursday as the high pressure moves offshore. A brisk southerly flow will bring more humid air by the afternoon with a chance of showers at night.

The frontal system will be slow to move through the area and we will have a chance of scattered showers Friday and Saturday along with warm temperatures and it will continue to be muggy.

High pressure will then build into the area for Sunday and last through at least early next week bringing dry, cooler and less humid air.

CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR AUGUST 2025 (Records began in 1973)

August’s temperature averaged 73.1 degrees and that was a couple of degrees below normal and was the coolest August since 2017. The high temperature was 93 degrees set on the 12th, 13th and the 17th. The lowest temperature was 53 degrees on the 30th which was the coolest August reading since 2003. Precipitation was well below normal with only 1.21″ recorded which was the 5th driest August and the driest since 1996.

SUMMER MONTHS: JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST!

The temperature averaged 75.5 degrees and was the 10th warmest summer since my records began. Precipitation was below normal with only 7.69″ recorded and was the 3rd driest summer.

Today we will continue to have quite pleasant weather for the end of this Labor Day weekend as high pressure is over the northeast states. Some clouds this morning, then it will become mostly sunny by this afternoon. Temperatures will be near normal with comfortable humidity.

The high pressure will slowly move offshore, but we will continue to have dry weather Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures continuing to be near normal

A frontal system will approach the area on Thursday, during the day should be dry but there will be a chance of showers Thursday night into Friday night.

Some showers are possible Saturday morning as another cold front moves through.
