Skies are mostly fair across the area early on this Friday morning and temperatures are not as cold as this time yesterday,  ranging from the low 30s in Clifton down to the mid 20s further inland, winds are light.

A cold front to our west will come through our area today reinforcing more cold air into the area, skies should be mostly sunny and temperatures will not rise much during the day with readings mainly staying in the 30s.

Cold and dry weather will continue through the weekend into at least the middle of next week as the storm that we have been tracking will stay well to ours south.

There are some indications that somewhat milder air will move into our area by late next week.

MARINE FORECAST:  A small craft advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. this morning for west-northwest wind gusting to 30 knots, seas 3-5 feet, winds and seas diminishing this afternoon.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Saturday through the day on Sunday; possible small craft conditions Sunday night through Tuesday.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from the upper 20s in Clifton to the teens inland, Walpack being the coldest reading at  13 degrees.

Today we will see an increase in clouds as a weak cold front approaches the area, daytime highs will be a couple of degrees higher than yesterday but still be below normal.  There is a slight chance of a couple of flurries tonight with the front.

Mainly fair weather tomorrow through the weekend with cold temperatures, the coldest day will be Saturday with highs just above freezing.

Computer models continue to show the storm for Monday and Tuesday to stay well south of our area.

High pressure will continue the dry and cold weather through Wednesday.

OUTLOOK – Lingering small craft advisory conditions possible Friday through Saturday;  advisories again possible depending on the low pressure track Sunday into Monday.

With clear skies and mainly calm winds, temperatures have fallen to the mid 20s in Clifton ranging down to the mid teens further inland,  Walpack is now at  15 degrees.

High pressure building into the area today will give us a partly sunny day with below normal temperatures.  A weak trough of low pressure offshore is expected to give coastal areas of central and southern New Jersey some snow showers but this should stay to our south.

Dry weather to continue the next several days but it will continue to be chilly with temperatures 5-10 degrees below normal through early next week.

The potential storm for early next week is still expected to remain south of the area and give snow to portions of the Carolinas and Virginia.

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures are mostly in the low to mid 30s across the area, there is a gusty northwest wind.

High pressure building in from the middle of the country will dominate our weather today through the weekend.  Temperatures will be chilly averaging 5-10 degrees below normal.  Daytime highs will be in the low 40s today but only be in the 30s the rest of this period, overnight lows will be mainly in the 20s.

Low pressure will develop off the southeast coast over the weekend.  Latest computer runs have the system remaining south of our area, but it still will be watched in case the storm moves further north than expected which then would give us a chance of snow.

Skies are cloudy early on this Monday morning and there are some areas with dense fog. Temperatures are unseasonably mild, with readings ranging from the low 50s in Clifton down to the upper 40s further inland, winds are light.

Finally we will see sunshine today along with rather mild temperatures, highs will be steady in the 50s, a cold front will cross the area tonight.

We will finally have an extended period of dry weather tomorrow into the weekend, but it will be chilly with highs mainly in the upper 30s to low 40s and overnight lows in the 20s.

Latest indications are that low pressure developing off the southeast coast late in the weekend will move far enough south not to give us any precipitation, but this system still needs to be followed in case the storm moves more north.
