High pressure building into the area will give us a partly sunny day today along with breezy conditions and near seasonable temperatures. An Arctic cold front will come through dry around sunset, followed by much colder air at night

Saturday will see an increase in cloudiness and it will be bitterly cold with high temperatures only in the teens and overnight lows in the single digits. Winds gusting to 20 mph will drop wind chills to below zero especially in the morning.

A major winter storm is expected for Sunday morning through Monday morning with snow developing around daybreak on Sunday and become heavy at times. The snow may mix with sleet in the evening. Accumulations should average 12-14 inches in the Clifton area, more to our north and west and less to our east where there may be more sleet mixed in.

The snow will taper off to flurries on Monday and it will remain very cold along with a brisk wind.

The rest of the week will be dry with much below normal temperatures. Highs mostly will be in the 20s while overnight lows will be mainly in the single digits.

Weak high pressure in our area will give us a mild day with highs in the 40s. Winds will be a little brisk. A cold front will come through dry tonight.

Friday will be colder and continued breezy along with mostly sunny skies. An Arctic front will cross the area in the evening followed by much colder air with temperatures falling to the single digits by Saturday morning.

Arctic high pressure will dominate our weather on Saturday and it will be bitterly cold with highs mainly only in the teens.

A winter storm is expected for Sunday as low pressure to our southwest approaches our area. Snow should begin before daybreak and continue heavy at times through Sunday night. Possible accumulations of around a foot is likely.

Lingering snow showers on Monday and it will remain quite cold.

Mainly dry and very cold the rest of next week as Arctic high pressure dominates our weather.

Some models are indicating another snowstorm around February 1st.

Since I started records in 1973, today January 21st, has the coldest average temperature of the year with highs averaging 32.6 degrees and the average low is 17.8 degrees.

After our very cold morning, today will be less harsh in the afternoon with highs reaching the low 30s. Winds will be a little brisk this afternoon and evening. Also a weak warm front may cause some flurries this afternoon and evening.

Tomorrow will probably be the last day of above normal temperatures for the rest of the month as weak high pressure builds into the area. A cold front will come through dry in the evening.

Friday will be colder as weak high pressure builds into our area. An Arctic cold front will come through dry at night.

Frigid weather for the weekend and the probability of a significant snowstorm has increased for Sunday into Monday.

Much below normal temperatures are expected to continue much of next week.

Arctic high pressure will build into the area today and despite plenty of sunshine it will be very cold with highs only reaching the low 20s. Wind gusts to 25 mph will make it feel colder. Winds diminish tonight.

After a very cold Wednesday morning temperatures will moderate somewhat in the afternoon, skies will become mostly cloudy by the afternoon.

Thursday looks to be the only day that it will be above normal this week as high pressure moves offshore. A cold front will come through day at night.

Friday will be colder with partly cloudy skies. An Arctic cold front is expected to come through dry at night.

Frigid Arctic air for the weekend and a low pressure area developing to our south and west now looks like it may cause some significant snow Saturday night through Sunday night. Snow accumulations will depend on the track and the strength of this system.

Low pressure that gave us the snow yesterday is moving to the north and east as weak high pressure builds into the area. Today will be mostly sunny with temperatures a bit below normal. Winds will become brisk in the afternoon with gusts to 20 mph. An Arctic cold front will come through dry tonight.

Much colder but sunny on Tuesday, early morning lows will be well down into the teens and highs will struggle to reach the low 20s. With winds gusting to 25 mph will bring wind chills down to below zero.

Early Wednesday morning will be very cold but with much less wind. During the day will be mostly sunny and not as cold in the afternoon.

Thursday looks to be the mildest day of the week as high pressure moves off the coast, daytime highs may reach the 40 degree mark.

Cold weather again on Friday along with partly sunny skies. Another Arctic front will cross the area dry at night.

Frigid over the weekend as Arctic high pressure builds into the area. Daytime highs will be mostly in the teens while overnight lows will be in the single digits. A low pressure to our south may give us some snow on Sunday.
