Skies are cloudy early on this Thursday morning and there are some showers or drizzle mainly east of our area. Temperatures range from 58 in Clifton down to 53 at High Point. Winds are brisk out of the north with some gusts to 25 mph. The air quality is good with an index of 29.

The low pressure that gave us the rain yesterday is moving slowly off the coast. We will have a brisk northerly flow of cool air with continued cloudy skies, but now there is only a slight chance of a shower.

High pressure will build into the area on Friday with milder temperatures despite continued mostly cloudy skies.

The forecast for the weekend now looks better, with only a slight chance of showers as the low pressure that was going to give us rain now appears to be to far to our south to give us much in the way of precipitation.

Milder temperatures and mainly dry Monday through Wednesday with only a chance of showers on Wednesday as a weak frontal system approaches our area.

Low pressure will be moving up the coast today through tomorrow that will give us periods of mainly light rain through Thursday. Rainfall amounts should between 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Daytime highs will be below average and overnight lows should be above normal through this period.

Weak high pressure will then move into our area on Friday giving us partly sunny skies and milder daytime temperatures.

The weather for the weekend is unsettled with a chance of showers mainly from Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. Again with the clouds and onshore winds, high temperatures will be below normal in the 60s while overnight lows will be above normal.

At this time the weather for early next week looks dry with seasonably mild temperatures.

High pressure is moving off the coast as a frontal system approaches from the west. Temperatures will be quite mild with highs well up into the 70s.

The frontal system will likely cause showers mainly after 8 p.m. tonight, continuing through Wednesday. With the clouds and an onshore wind, highs on Wednesday will be cooler.

The low pressure system may be slow to move offshore, so there may be some lingering showers on Thursday.

After a dry Friday, the weekend’s weather looks unsettled with a chance of showers both days, temperatures will be at or a little below normal.
