Skies are cloudy early on this Friday morning and there are still some showers in parts of the area. It continues to be unseasonably mild with temperatures at 5 a.m. ranging from 56 in Clifton down to 45 at High Point. Winds are calm or light westerly!

The cold front that gave us the showers and thunderstorms overnight is now moving through the area and will be off the coast this morning. There will still be a chance of showers during the day and some small hail is possible in the showers. Temperatures will not rise much from our current readings with highs in the upper 50s to near 60. Winds will be gusty at times.

Saturday is shaping up to be a nice early spring day with plenty of sunshine and near seasonable temperatures.

A weak low pressure area will likely give us some light rain on Sunday with slightly cooler temperatures.

Mainly dry weather Monday through the day on Tuesday as high pressure dominates our weather. Near seasonable temperatures can be expected.

A complex low pressure will likely give us some rain Tuesday night through Thursday, temperatures will continue to be near seasonable levels. Most of the rain will be light.

Today will be mostly cloudy as a warm front moves to our north. Gusty southerly winds will help temperatures rise well up to the 60s to near 70 degrees. It will be mainly dry but can’t rule out a scattered shower this afternoon.

A cold front will approach and cross the area tonight producing showers along with a chance of some strong to severe thunderstorms with the best chance of these storms being between 8-10 P.M.

Friday will be mainly dry and cooler but a trough of low pressure may touch off a shower.

Near seasonable temperatures for the weekend, Saturday will be dry but a weak low pressure may cause some showers on Sunday.

Mainly seasonable temperatures Monday through Wednesday, we should stay dry Monday through the day on Tuesday but showers are likely Tuesday night into Wednesday as a frontal system moves into our area.

High pressure moving through the area today will give us partly sunny skies with a low chance of an afternoon shower. High temperatures should be around ten degrees milder than yesterday and with lighter winds it will feel much more comfortable than the last two frigid spring days. A warm front approaching our area today will cause a chance of light rain and drizzle.

Much milder on Thursday as the warm front moves to our north and a strong southerly flow develops. Despite cloudy skies temperatures will rise to near 70. Showers with a chance of strong thunderstorms in the afternoon and at night as a cold front crosses our area.

A chance of a morning shower on Friday followed by clearing with near seasonable temperatures.

Mainly dry weather with near seasonable temperatures for the weekend through early next week.

Very cold again early on this Tuesday morning with some record lows being reported. Temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 23 in Clifton down to 16 at High Point. Winds are gusty out of the northwest with gusts to 25 mph causing wind chills down to the single digits.

Yesterday’s high of 32 was the second coldest high temperature so late in the season since my records began. The coldest high temperature was 30 degrees set on April 7, 1982 which was the day after the April blizzard.

Today will be less harsh but temperatures will still be well below normal with highs just above 40 degrees. Winds will still be brisk but not as strong as yesterday.

A warm front approaching from the west will cause an increase in cloudiness, an onshore wind will keep high temperatures below normal.

On Thursday the front will move to our north and a rather strong southerly flow will develop, highs will climb to near 70 degrees. Showers and possibly some strong thunderstorms mainly from Thursday afternoon into early Friday morning as a cold front crosses the area.

Clearing on Friday with temperatures near or slightly above normal.

At this point the weekend looks mainly dry with seasonable temperatures but there is a low chance of showers on Sunday as a weak low pressure area moves to our south.

High pressure early next week will give us dry conditions with near temperatures continuing near seasonable levels.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Monday morning and temperatures are near record lows. The temperature here at my station in Clifton is 21 degrees which is near the record low of 19 set in 1990. Temperature at High Point is 13 degrees. Winds are gusty out of the west-northwest bringing wind chills down to the single digits.

An extremely cold air mass for late March will be with us today with strong winds, some record low high temperatures are likely over most of the area as highs will only rise to the low 30s. We will start off the day mostly sunny but we should see some increasing cloudiness in the afternoon and evening with a low chance of some flurries. High pressure will be building down from central Canada.

Tomorrow morning will be cold again with some record lows possible, however with mostly sunny skies it will not be as harsh as today as temperatures rise to the 40s in the afternoon which is still well below normal.

A warm front approaching from the southwest on Wednesday will cause an increase in cloudiness with a low chance of light rain that may be mixed with sleet. High temperatures will still be well below normal.

Much warmer air will be moving into the area as the warm front moves to our north, highs will soar to the low 70s but a cold front approaching the area late in the day will likely give us showers and possibly some strong thunderstorms.

Friday will be a little cooler with only a small chance of an early morning shower, skies will then become partly sunny by late morning.

At the present time the upcoming weekend looks to have near seasonable temperatures with only a low chance of a shower Sunday afternoon and evening.
