Yesterday’s heavy rain dumped over 2 inches of rain in one hour between 4 and 5 p.m. that caused considerable flooding in Clifton.

Today will not be as hot as an onshore flow along with considerable cloudiness will keep high temperatures in the 80s but the humidity will be high with dew points near 70. Also some scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms are possible but we should not have the widespread flooding as we had yesterday.

Warmer and continued humid on Wednesday with still a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

We should be dry, hot and humid on Thursday.

A coastal low with possibly some tropical characteristics will likely give us rain possibly heavy Friday into Saturday, it will remain humid.

More showers are possible on Sunday as a weak front moves through the area and it will remain quite warm and humid.

Today will be another hot day, but we should likely have some showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and this evening. Some of these storms may be accompanied by gusty winds and small hail. Temperatures will rise again into the 90s and the humidity will be moderate with dew points in the low to mid 60s.

Tuesday will have more cloud cover so it will not be as hot, there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon and evening.

High pressure building over the area will give us mostly sunny skies today after some early morning cloudiness, temperatures will be hot with most highs in the low 90s. The humidity will be moderate with dew points in the 60s.

Very warm to hot weather will continue for much of this week and there will be a chance of mainly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms each day.

There is a chance a coastal low pressure with possible tropical characteristics may cause heavier rain late Friday into Saturday but the models at this time disagrees with the track of this low, with the GFS moving the low into our area while the European computer model has the low well offshore with little of no impact to our area.

A back door cold front came through last night accompanied by some thunderstorms. Today high pressure over New England will give us a mostly sunny day after early morning cloudiness, temperatures will be a little lower than the last couple of days.

High pressure building into our area will give us another sunny day on Sunday but the temperatures will rise again with highs in the low 90s.

Next week will be quite warm to hot with a chance of mainly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, but each day will not be a washout and most areas will remain dry. The humidity levels will increase each day and by the end of the week the dew points will be near or above 70 degrees.
