Mostly cloudy and cool weather today for the first full day of autumn!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are mainly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and some sprinkles or light rain is falling in parts of the inland areas.  Temperatures are cool with readings ranging from the upper 50s in Clifton down to the low 50s further inland, although it is much cooler than this time yesterday these temperatures are still a little above normal for this time of year.

A weak disturbance will cause some sprinkles this morning but then we should stay dry throughout the day but it will be mostly cloudy and cool with highs in the 60s.  Rain is more likely across southern New Jersey were up to a half of inch of rain is possible.

Monday should be a dry day but rain will develop after midnight as a warm front approaches the area.

Periods of rain will continue on Tuesday as the warm front crosses our area, it will become more humid at night.

Wednesday will be warmer and humid with showers likely as a cold front approaches the area and moves off the coast at night.

Some lingering showers Thursday morning followed by clearing skies during the afternoon.

Another disturbance may touch off some rain on Friday.

At this point next weekend looks to be dry with seasonably mild temperatures.

We have mostly cloudy skies early on this last morning of summer and temperatures are summerlike with readings ranging from the low 70s in Clifton to the upper 60s further inland.  The humidity is also high with dew points near 70.

A cold front will cross the area this morning and it will come through dry.  After the frontal passage it will become much less humid with dew points dropping to the comfortable 40s.  High temperatures will rise only a couple of degrees reaching the mid 70s under mostly sunny skies.

Autumn arrives at 9:54 p.m. tonight and overnight temperatures will fall into the mid 50s in the Clifton area down to some 40s further inland, these temperatures are actually normal for this time of year.  This will be a refreshing change from the humid weather of most of the summer.

High pressure building into the area will give us comfortably cool and dry weather for Sunday and Monday.

A warm front will be approaching the area Monday night and Tuesday with rain likely.  Wednesday will be warm and humid again with showers and thunderstorms likely.  A cold front is expected to cross the area Wednesday night.

Unsettled weather Thursday and Friday as the front moves only slowly to our south.

Skies are cloudy early on this Friday morning and temperatures range from the upper 60s in Clifton down to around 60 further inland, winds are mainly calm.

Today will be a mostly cloudy day as high pressure moves off the coast and a cold front approaches from the west.  High temperatures will reach the 70s and the humidity will rise by late in the day as winds become south-southwesterly.   The front will move through after midnight with only a low chance of showers and thunderstorms.

High pressure will then build in for the weekend and we should remain dry.  Temperatures will be a little above normal on Saturday and a little below normal on Sunday with a little more cloudiness.

The high pressure will move off the coast on Monday and we should have another dry day with seasonably cool temperatures.

A warm front will cross the area on Tuesday followed by a cold front on Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms are likely with the frontal passages.

Showers still possible on Thursday with near seasonable temperatures.

Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from the middle 60s in Clifton down to some upper 50s further inland, the humidity is lower than the last few mornings with dew points near 60.  There has been some sprinkles in parts of the inland areas but most locations have remained dry.

Today will be much more comfortable with high temperatures about 10 degrees lower than yesterday, also the humidity will be lower with dew points dropping to the more comfortable 50s.  High pressure is building into the area from the north.  We should have mostly sunny skies after early morning cloudiness.

Friday will be more humid as a southerly flow develops ahead of a cold front, the front may cause a shower in the evening.

The front will sag south of us over the weekend and we should have dry conditions with temperatures near seasonable levels.

Dry weather is expected on Monday with comfortable temperatures and humidity.

More humid Tuesday into Wednesday along with a chance of showers as a front moves slowly into the area.

Skies are clear early this morning and temperatures range from the upper 60s in Clifton down to some upper 50s further inland, winds are light and the humidity is still on the high side and there is some patchy fog in parts of the inland areas.

The remains of Florence has moved offshore and weak high pressure will build into the area, today we should see a mix of sun and clouds, temperatures will be above normal and the humidity will be moderate with dew points in the 60s.

Tomorrow will be cooler and less humid and it will be dry as high pressure builds down from the north.

Warmer and more humid on Friday as a warm front moves to our north and then a cold front moves through from the west which may produce a shower or two at night.

At this point the weekend looks to be dry as the cold front moves slowly to our south and high pressure builds into the area.  Temperatures will be above normal on Saturday and slightly below normal on Sunday.    The normal high temperature now is 74 degrees.

Monday should be dry but there will be a chance of showers on Tuesday, temperatures will be near seasonable levels.
