Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from the mid 30s in the Clifton area to around 30 in some colder inland areas, winds are still a little gusty out of the north.   Some areas across northwest New Jersey and the Hudson Valley of New York picked up a few inches of snow and sleet while the Clifton area only had rain occasionally mixed with snow and sleet last night.

Today will be a very pleasant mid winter day as the nor’easter moves off the Maine coast and weak high pressure builds into the area, with plenty of sunshine temperatures will rise to well up into the 40s to the low 50s, winds will gradually diminish.

A weak cold front may cause some rain showers late tonight into Thursday morning, following the front skies will clear and it will still be mild.

Mainly dry conditions Friday through early next week with a cooling trend to near normal temperatures.

At this time there is no indications of any bitter cold or significant snows for the next two weeks.

Light rain is falling in the Clifton area early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures range from the mid 30s in the Clifton area to the low 30s further inland where some freezing rain and sleet is occurring mainly over higher elevations.  Winds are still gusty out of the northeast but at lower speeds than yesterday.   Total rainfall recorded from this storm so far range from 1.5 to 2 inches, some inland areas inland received around 1-2 inches of sleet.

The strong coastal storm now is just south of Long Island and is slowly moving to the northeast and will continue to give us periods of mainly light rain today with some freezing rain and sleet across the higher elevations of northwest New Jersey, the Poconos and the Hudson Valley which should change to all rain later this morning.  Winds will by gusty this morning but diminsh this afternoon.

Wednesday should be a very pleasant mid-winter day with sunshine and highs in the 50s.

A weak cold front may cause a shower early Thursday morning but the day will have some sunshine with continued mild temperatures.

Mainly dry weather Friday through the weekend with temperatures falling to more normal winter temperatures.

Skies are cloudy early on this Monday morning and temperatures are mild ranging from the low 40s in the Clifton area to the low-mid 30s further inland, winds are strong from the east-northeast direction with gusts to 35 mph.

A very strong low pressure area was over Tennessee this morning and is expected to redevelop off our coast today, some light rain with this system will move into the area this morning but the heaviest rain will be falling this evening and continue into Tuesday morning, expect 1-3 inches of rain.  Strong winds with gusts over 45 mph is expected through the day and tonight with the highest amounts across coastal areas.  Temperatures will gradually fall from the low 40s this morning into the 30s by this afternoon and some of the inland areas of northwest New Jersey may have some sleet and freezing rain in fact some of the rain may be mixed with sleet at times in the Clifton area.  A storm warning and coastal flood warning is in effect.

Rain will taper off to showers on Tuesday and winds will slowly diminish.

Dry weather is expected Wednesday through the weekend, Wednesday will be quite mild but colder temperatures to near normal levels can be expected by the weekend.

Skies are cloudy early on the Sunday morning and there is considerable fog, a dense fog advisory is in effect, temperatures are again quite mild ranging from the mid 40s in the Clifton area to the upper 30s further inland, winds are nearly calm.

Today will be a cloudy and mild day and as low pressure develops to our southeast, there will be a chance of rain mainly after 3  p.m. with generally light rain overnight.

On Monday the coastal low will develop just offshore with rain becoming heavy at times by the afternoon, winds will increase to near 50 mph in the Clifton area with higher winds along coastal areas, at least minor coastal flooding is likely.  Further inland there will be some sleet or freezing rain during the storm mostly in the higher elevations.  Generally 1-3 inches of rain is expected with some higher amounts.

The storm will only slowly move away from the area on Tuesday but showers will likely continue most of the day, winds will be lighter.

Dry weather is expected from Wednesday into next weekend, temperatures will be well above normal Wednesday and Thursday and fall back to near normal winter temperatures from Friday through the weekend.

Skies are mainly cloudy early on this Saturday morning and there are some areas with fog, temperatures once again are well above normal with readings ranging from the low 40s in the Clifton area to the mid 30s further inland, winds are nearly calm.

Today will be a mild and dry day however there will be considerable cloudiness but even with the clouds temperatures will rise into the 50s, weak high pressure will be moving offshore.

A significant coastal storm or nor’easter will affect our area from late Sunday into Tuesday as a strong complex low pressure system moves into the area.  Rain from this system will develop by late Sunday afternoon and continue heavy at times especially on Monday, some areas well north and west of our area may see some freezing rain or sleet.  Very strong winds will accompany the storm with gusts above 50 mph possible especially over coastal areas, the rain will taper off to showers on Tuesday, total rainfall will average 1-3 inches with some higher amounts possible.

Dry weather is expected Wednesday through the end of next week, Wednesday and Thursday will be mild with more seasonably cool weather starting Friday and continuing through next weekend.
