Warm and dry weather to end the 4th of July weekend!


Skies have cleared up early this Sunday morning and temperatures range from the low 60s in Clifton to the mid-upper 50s further inland, winds are light.

A weak area of high pressure will build into the area today providing us with plenty of sunshine, seasonably warm temperatures and rather low humidity, a real nice summer day to end the holiday weekend.

Monday will be warm and dry but with slowly increasing humidity.

A frontal system approaching the area on Tuesday and Wednesday will cause thunderstorms chances to increase along with higher temperatures and humidity, some of the showers may come down quite heavy.

Lingering showers on Thursday is still possible with slightly lower temperatures.

Dry and seasonably warm weather is expected Friday and Saturday.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, low in the upper 60s.

MONDAY – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

TUESDAY – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, some storms may be accompanied by heavy rain, high in the upper 80s.

WEDNESDAY – Partly sunny with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, high near 90.

THURSDAY – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, high in the low 80s.

FRIDAY – Partly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

Periods of light rain likely during the day today although clearing out in time for tonight’s fireworks! Warm and dry Sunday!


We have cloudy skies at daybreak on this Independence Day with most temperatures in the mid 60s, winds are calm, there has been some sprinkles in the area with the heaviest right now over the Poconos.

We will have a cloudy and cool day today with the best chance of light rain from around 9 a.m. till 2 p.m., temperatures will only reach the mid 70s.  Any rain should be offshore by this evening with clearing skies tonight in time for viewing any fireworks in the area.

Sunday will be an outstanding day with plenty of sunshine along with warmer temperatures and comfortable humidity levels.

Warm and dry weather will continue for Monday.

Warm Tuesday through Thursday but there is a risk of showers and thunderstorms each day.

Dry weather should return for Friday with continued warm temperatures.

Skies are clear early this Friday morning and temperatures range from the low 60s in the Clifton area to the mid 50s further inland, winds are light.

Today will be a rather pleasant start to the holiday weekend with plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures and humidity.

It now looks like Independance Day will be cloudy and cooler with rain likely, the best chance of rain will be in the afternoon to the early evening so we may be able to stay dry in the morning and then dry out before any fireworks celebrations at night.

Sunshine will return on Sunday with warm temperatures and comfortable humidity levels.

It appears that next week will be seasonably warm but we may have afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms Tuesday through Thursday.

Pleasantly warm and mainly dry weather today and through the holiday weekend!


Skies are mostly clear early this Thursday morning and temperatures range from the mid 60s in the Clifton area to the upper 50s further inland, winds are nearly calm.

Today we will start off sunny but we should see an increase of clouds this afternoon, there is a slight chance of a shower this evening mainly across the southern parts of New Jersey, temperatures will be seasonably warm.

We can expect mostly sunny skies on Friday with again seasonably warm temperatures.

More clouds on Independence Day along with again a slight chance of a shower but most areas will remain dry, temperatures will be slightly cooler than normal.

Mostly sunny and warm conditions return on Sunday and last through at least the middle of next week.  Still no signs of any extended heat or oppressive humidity for at least the next two weeks.

JUNE 2015 CLIMATE – Temperatures this past month averaged near normal, with a very cool beginning, a warmer than normal middle of the month and slightly cooler at the end of the month.  It was quite a wet June with nearly 7 inches of rain reported.   The highest temperature was 91 degrees on the 11th, with the lowest reading of 48 degrees on the 2nd.  The highest 24 hour rain amount was 2.99″ that fell from the 14th into the 15th.

Warm with some scattered thunderstorms today! Dry and less humid on Thursday! Holiday weekend mainly dry!


We have cloudy skies at daybreak this morning and temperatures range from the upper 60s in the Clifton area to the low 60s further inland, winds are light and it is rather muggy.  Strong thunderstorms that affected the Clifton area around 4:30 a.m. have moved to our east after dumping around 1/2 inch of rain in about 30 minutes, the storms were accompanied by frequent lightning.

Today will be a mostly cloudy day with still a risk of a shower or thunderstorm, temperatures will be warm.

Dry with plenty of sunshine both today and on Friday with lower humidity.

Independance Day should be mainly dry but I can’t rule out a shower in the afternoon.

Mostly sunny and warmer on Sunday!
