Skies are mostly cloudy to cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures are a few degrees milder than this time yesterday with readings ranging from 36 in Clifton down to 26 at High Point. Winds are from the west-southwest around 10 mph. The air quality is good with an index of 31.

Low pressure off the Nova Scotia coast along with high pressure to our south will give us breezy conditions again today but not as windy or cold as yesterday with winds gusty to 28 mph. Skies will remain mostly cloudy with some sunny breaks. Hopefully skies will be clear enough tonight as there is another chance of seeing the Northern Lights. Last night the lights were visible down the Jersey shore but clouds in our area prevented viewing.

Dry with seasonably cool air Thursday and Friday; it still will be breezy both days especially in the afternoon.

Cool and dry during the day on Saturday as the high pressure builds closer to our area.

A frontal system will likely give us rain mainly from midnight Saturday night through noon on Sunday, temperatures will be mild.

Dry, breezy again and cool weather is expected early next week.

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and there are some snow flurries falling mainly to our north and west. Temperatures are chilly with readings ranging from 32 in Clifton (coolest here since April 9th) to 23 at High Point. Winds are a little gusty out of the west. The air quality is good with an index of 16.

A strong low pressure off the Maine coast along with high pressure to our south will give us a strong westerly flow of cold air. Skies will be mostly cloudy and there is a chance of some snow flurries or snow showers. Highs will struggle to reach the low 40s and with winds gusting to near 40 mph will bring wind chills down to below 20 degrees at times.

High pressure will build into our area on Wednesday and dominate our weather through Friday. Temperatures will not be as cold during this period but still slightly below normal. Winds will still be a little gusty each day.

Seasonably cool weather is expected for the weekend with less winds. A frontal system will give us a chance of showers mainly Sunday afternoon through Monday morning.

A weak cold front is crossing our area this morning accompanied by some light showers this morning. Temperatures will hold steady in the low 50s till this afternoon and fall to the 40s by sunset. A stronger cold front will come through dry tonight ushering in the coldest air of the season.

Tuesday will feel more like December with highs struggling to reach the low 40s during the day and with winds gusting to 40 mph will bring wind chill values down to around 20 degrees. Also there is a slight chance of a few flurries mainly to our north and west.

High pressure will then dominate our weather Wednesday through Friday and although it will not be as cold the winds will still be gusty.

At this point the weekend looks to be dry and cool with lighter winds.

A frontal system will be affecting our area today giving us mainly light rain this afternoon and tonight. Temperatures will be slightly above normal with highs in the low 60s. Rainfall amounts now are expected to be only around 1/4 inch.

There is still a chance of showers Monday morning followed by cooler air. A second cold front will cross the area Monday evening.

Tuesday will feel like mid-December with early morning lows below freezing and highs struggling to reach the mid 40s despite plenty of sunshine. The winds will be gusting to above 30 mph during the day bringing wind chills down to the 20s.

Not as cool but breezy Wednesday through the start of next weekend along with dry conditions.

The frontal system that gave us the rain overnight will move offshore today and the rain should end by dawn. The rest of the day will be mostly sunny and mild along with lighter winds.

Another frontal system will give us periods of rain Sunday into Sunday night. Temperatures will continue to be mild ahead of the cold front that will cross our area late at night. Rainfall amounts will be less than 1/2″

Cooler on Monday as Arctic high pressure builds over the area, skies will be partly sunny.

Tuesday will be the coldest day of the season so far despite plenty of sunshine, high temperatures will only be in the mid 40s while early lows should be below freezing.

Dry and not quite as cool Wednesday and Thursday but becoming cooler again on Friday. Winds will be brisk throughout this period.
